Discover new places - Adri Du Preez

Hello everyone!

Welcome to the blog today.  I used beautiful Dusty Attic travel chippies and the paper is from the 49 and Market Vintage Artistry Anywhere collections for this layout.  In this blog post, I feature my grandson James, or Baby James as his cousins Mila and Janco call him. The day they immigrated to Australia, his dad took this photo at the OR Tambo Airport. The planes fascinated him.  It is a very special photo for me.  Everything about this little boy makes me miss him.  The sound of his voice, the way he laughs, his hugs, and his smell.

Here is my layout.

All the chippies were first covered with a layer of white gesso, except for the arrows and the camera.

It was so much fun coloring the chippies. I used Americana Acrylic paints to match the background paper.
Isn't the little passport adorable? And the suitcases are amazing with their handles and locks.

All the different travel icons are stunning.

I raised some of the chippies on foam tape.

To finish off my layout I added enamel dots and,  splatters with diluted white gesso.

Dusty Attic products used.

Thank you for visiting the blog.

Happy crafting!

Mischief Managed - Deb Stephens

Hello everyone and welcome to my 2nd March, Dusty Attic DT Project. This one is a giant 12 x 5" Harry Potter Inspired Mixed media Tag, using plenty of beautiful Dusty Attic chipboard, Asuka Studio Spell Bound Scrapbook paper, resin and paper clay embellishments and The Daily Prophet newsprint front page that was printed on my printer at home.

The Small Suitcases (DA2958) ready to be loaded onto the Hogwarts Express, were detail painted with chalk and metallic paint accents. I love how the handles and corners build up to give a 3D effect. I used the painted bricks that popped out from the Brick Wall Panel DA0316 and the Decorative Panel #1 DA3254, to fill in spaces around my tag.

To fill other spaces, I used some textured paper clay in a thin Zuri mould that I painted when it dried. The printed front page of the Daily Prophet newspaper was inked and then cut up and mounted on various sized cardboard pieces so it was the same thickness as the chipboard.

The focal point was some painted Broomsticks (DA3091) with an embossed Owl from the Owl #3 Set (DA3084) clutching a letter in its claw's that was fussy cut from the Spellbound paper. This was mounted on a painted resin castle silhouetted in a crescent moon, that reminded me of Hogwarts Castle.

Other DA chipboard used were the DA0597 Bottles on a Shelf that was painted and labelled with various potion names from the HP series. This was then finished off with the DA0666 Bookman ABC Set, that was used to make the caption "Mischief Managed, " and a fussy cut witches hat, spell book and cauldron from the Spellbound Paper.

Looking forward to seeing your Harry Potter inspired projects!

these are TREASURED memories - Ankarika Craft

Hi there!!

A lot has been happening lately, and therefore my everyday life is very different from what I'm used to and what I like. But wait... I'm not complaining here at all, nor am I going to brag about it. I just experience it with my whole being, which means that I also want to share it with you.

Short version: together with my sister and our wonderful design team of 10 fantastic designers, we managed to implement 4 different challenges in the "Margaret MyCRAFTime & YOU" creative group. Have I mentioned this group here before? I'm not sure, but who's curious - you're invited to join us and take part in the actions that are just being created. You can witness it and take an active part. The group currently has almost 300 members and has been in existence since November 10. What are challenges about? There are four different ones:

1. "Margaretka" challenge

2. "Paper" challenge

3. "Pędziwiatr"(Eng. Road Runner) challenge

4."Live"challenge

Details are described in the posts on the group, so I will not repeat them here. It was a lot of work for us: a lot of time spent on setting rules, creating graphics, writing regulations, entries on Facebook and IG, stories creating, publishing reminders... These are all activities that I didn't take into account when setting up my business. You know: accounting, logistics, statistics, selling - at least you know it will be!.. Meanwhile, the reality surprised us a bit - we have a lot of laugh about it, because.. let's take this "Pędziwiatr" (Eng. Road Runner) - when the idea will be totally implemented - it will be fun after every single live stream. :)

let's go on a ROAD TRIP - Michelle Van Oudtshoorn - Mood Board Inspiration

Hello friends,

Today I am back to feature a layout created with the September moodboard.

Love these neutral colours - and this is so soft and calming. Here is my layout inspired by the moodboard.
When I received our DT box with the suitcase chipboard (DA2958) in it, I knew I had to use these somewhere on a layout. They even come with the extra buckles and straps to build up a 3D effect. So I chose a photo (found on Pinterest) with a suitcase so I could use the chipboard suitcase. I have also used some mushrooms among my flowers.
The flowers are all layered and the spring vines were added to the flower clusters (DA2791 - I used two)
I thought the title "let's go on a road trip" was very fitting. I have then added some stars the Tabs and Starbursts chipboard (DA2946).

These are the products I have used:

Remember to enter the monthly challenge using the moodboard as inspiration, post your entry to the Dusty Fanattics facebook page where you have a chance to win one of two $50 worth of chipboard.

Till next time,
Michelle

Photo Box - Ankarika Craft

  Hi there!

We are halfway through the summer holidays. This year we decided to spend every Sunday on trips, regardless of the weather. So we look forward to every Sunday with longing. How is your holiday in 2021? Show off where you were, what you saw. Are you resting from the studio or maybe the holidays have no influence on your work? I want to show you the photo box today. I had the order like this before, if you want to see it, it's here.
