Notes and Thoughts - Kristy Abela - Mood Board Inspiration

 Hi Fanattics...

I was playing in my journal, my secret passion, and needed to create a title and a focal point for my layout.

First I just want to share the December mood board with you, why not enter for a chance to win one of the $50 credits to the Dusty Attic website?

It is very easy to enter, just add your creation into the comments section on the Dusty FANattics facebook page HERE.

Now chipboard is usually really bulky to use in journals...

Check out my hack to make it user friendly.

I started by painting the background black with gesso. I picked warm colours and created a pallet to use and a complimentary colour. This time I chose green. It made me feel like autumn. Always a winning colour pallet in my books. I added some marks with the back of a brush to create texture, crosshatching and some circles in by watering down the left over gesso on my craft mat and used my fingertip to create dots with the left over colours. I used some printed words from an encyclopaedia to create a theme. This one is Mythological.

To add the chipboard, I used my scalpel to peel apart the layers. Go slowly so you don't tear the top layer. I then used a dry brush with paint to edge the chippy to create some definition.

Have fun creating and let me know how you go transforming your chipboard into exciting focal points.

Gypsy Girl - Pascale B - Mood Board Inspiration

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on Dusty Attic blog with a mixed media layout inspired by the beautiful color combo of December.

I stamped with different Archival inks and stamps before priming the background with clear Gesso. Next, I added a design with the Flourish stencil and paper paste.

When dry, I colored the design area with different liquid acrylic paints and Magical.

I primed all the chipboards with white gesso before painting them. I used Carmine to paint the Floral Fantasy and the berries from the Branches and Berries. I painted the leaves with Burnt Sienna and Ochre. Then, I heat embossed Foliage #23 with Byzantine Bronze EP and Foliage #27 with Gilded Burgundy Brass EP.

I colored the beige Sugar Posies with Nude liquid acrylic paint to match the color combo.

I glue all the embellishments with a 3D Matte Gel. And to finish the layout, I added some glitters.

Simply AMAZING - Michelle Van Oudtshoorn

 Hello lovelies,

Gosh can you believe it is December already? This year has sure gone by in a blur! I am back on the blog today with my December project:

The photo is compliments - isn't she a wee cutie? I have used paper and fussy cutting elements from a Uniquely Creative paper range. I painted all the chipboard first. The first step I did was to use the Mystic Frame #2 DA1745. This I cut in half at the circle and split them apart before adhering to the page. I added the photo with scrap pieces of chipboard so that it lay level with the Mystic Frame, and adding a tab from DA1802 "Always & Forever"

I also cut the creative script chipboard DA2201 in half and adhered on either side of the photo

I then layered my flowers and fussy cut elements, adding in the various mini  foliage DA2786 between these as I added the layers.

Lastly I added the title Simply Amazing DA2747 before adding sequins and pearls.

These are the products I have used:

Thank you for visiting the blog today.

Till next time,

Mini Best Wishes box - Anat Weksler - Mood Board Inspiation

 Hello crafty friends!

It's Anat here with a mini Best Wishes Box using fabulous Dusty Attic's Chippies and inspired by November's Moodboard.

I needed to make a mini box which will hold a bracelet so that's what I've done.

The box was painted with impasto paints, adding crackle paste to give it a peeled paint look.

Inspired by the Moodboard I wanted to give it a touch of nature.

Here are the chipboards I have used in my Box:
