Beauty - Cathy Cafun - Challenge Inspiration

Hi Everyone,
Today I am sharing my take on this month's Mood Board/Sketch Challenge at Dusty Attic.

Why not enter for your chance to win a $100 Prize Voucher from The Dusty Attic website.  You can use the Mood Board or sketch for inspiration or if you're feeling adventurous, why not use both!!
How gorgeous is the colour palette in this month's Mood Board... the contrast of the teal, orange and white is divine!!

'Nature's Beauty'
My son recently went to Japan and one of the highlights of his trip, was a visit to a fox sanctuary, so as soon as I saw the orange from the colour palette it made me think of this beautiful photo he snapped of the red fox all curled up in the brilliant white snow.

To create my background, I used the recent release Gradient Stencil and Dusty Attic Texture Paste, then misted over with a mix of 2 Lindy's Starburst Mists and once dry, stamped over with a crackle background stamp in teal ink.
The Vine Corner #2 chipboard was cut into sections, painted with Capri Dusty in Colour, then coated with seafoam Liquid Pearls and whilst wet sprinkled with teal microbeads.  Once dry, I lightly swiped over with gesso to create the effect of a light dusting of snow.

To draw the eye to the gorgeous photo, I decided to frame it with the Large Crazy Stitching chipboard, which I coated with Viva Inka Gold in Copper.

To create my title I used the Mini ABC Script and Words #2 chipboard, which I coated first with gesso, then with white Liquid Pearls.

Boho Skull Frame - Patricia Basson (Challenge Inspiration)

Me again Blogger friends, with a project for this months Moodboard from Dusty Attic....
One of the newer designs in the shop is this BoHo skull...I was not sure how to use it until this months moodboard. I was so inspired by the rich colours and thought that is the ideal way to use the skull.

I used a cheap photo frame, added some Art stones to the corners, painted it with black gesso. I then painted the frame with a mixture of Chipped Sapphire and Cracked Pistachio Distress paint and some blue acrylic paint. Also rubbed on some Art Alchemy Waxes.

All the chipboard pieces were painted with white gesso. I then added some crackle paint to the skull. Once dry I painted it with the following Distress Oxide Re-Inkers, Antique Linen, Iced Spruce and Walnut Stain. The leaves where painted with Lindy's Stampgang Sprays Maidenhair Fern Green and Pondorosa Pines Olive. The flowers were painted with several water colours and embossed with clear embossing powder.

I inked the Beaded Flourish #3 with Monarch Orange Archival Ink and Cocoa Bean Copper Lindy's Spray. Also added a few drops of Chestnut Liquid Pearls. It was then cut into pieces and added to the skull.

The Retro Frame was also inked with the Monarch Orange and Spray as well as with Cornflower Blue Archival Ink and Time Travel Teal Lindy's Spray.

I hope I could inspire you to get to the Dusty Attic shop where there are many more amazing design to choose from...

Timeless Sweet Memories - Amy Voorthuis

Hi lovelies,
Today I would like to show you a layout futuring the beautiful NEW "Cottage Life" collection by 49 and market, a picture of my husband and son and the STUNNING new flower ranges. Oh boy I am head over heels in love with this collection and I can tell you "you" will love it too ;-) As you may already know I am a hugh fan of purple so my first layout is some what purple with shades of blue and light green... I was so amazed when I got my DT package that I was ooing and aaing {in my head because I was recording it hihihi} I really love the word stamp set Gerry created here I used the word "Timeless". I also used some of the new amazing Dusty Attic chipboard pieces to compliment my layout.

Timeless Sweet Memories:
I cut Provance sheet in half and and added another sheet behind it of a green colors then I placed it on the backside of the cut out sheet which is a little blue/purple. Then I stamped with the new whimsical door stamp by Gabrielle on both parts and cut out the right corner piece with the flowers from the right sheet's lower right corner....are you following me hihihi.

The chipboard pieces are all by The Dusty Attic as I said upbove and I gessod them and then painted them with their acrylic paints, on the feather I added some stamps and later on drawed on them to with a fine liner in black, which I normally use for my job as a optician. On the background I used some stray's by Lindy's Stamp Gang {Whale Watch Blue, Aloha Avocado & Sidewalk Chalk}. Also I added two stencils my personal favorites by Dusty Attic and paste

I distressed all the papers around the edges I just love doing so gives it more of a shabby chic look. The new flower ranges are the bomb and I feel very blessed to be able to use them on my projects because they make your work look so complete. On my work I added two flairs from Cuts2luv I just adore their flairs they go so well with this new paper line.
