Treasure - Joanne Bain - Mood Board Inspiration

Hi Everyone!!

Joanne here sharing my latest creation created for the gorgeous Dusty Attic December Mood Board Challenge. The challenge gives you the chance to win one of two $50 Dusty Attic Gift Vouchers. So this is the December Mood Board.

So pretty and festive...

I chose to create a shabby altered paintbrush for my interpretation of the mood board.

'Treasure'

There is silver on the tips of the flowers but it I couldn't get it to show up in the photos no matter how hard I tried. The paintbrush represents for me two of my favourite things in life art and my kids.

To create the centrepiece of the brush I have used multiple pieces of Dusty chippy.

I started with one of the wings from the Wings #3 set, I then added some mini scrolls #2 and mini cogs.

To frame my photo I cut away the cog centre from the small heart of the Industrial Heart set and I backed it with the medium sized wings from the Wings #1 set.

I added some mini cogs because they are one of my favourite pieces of chippy. For my title I cut away the edges of one of the word tags.

To finish off I then added a sprinkling of mini butterflies and art stones. I added some coloured cheesecloth to add some more texture and softness to the brush.

Hello dusty attic fans, 

Today i made a beach theme layout.Dusty attic has some of the most gorgeous

beach theme chippies so i make it an excuse to 

make a summery layout in winter season:)

I have used lots of chippies from both new and old collection.

I painted all the chipboard pieces with distress inks in shades of green,brown and black

and then dry brushed lots of white gesso over it.

I have also used some sea shells and art stones for some natural look

Michelle back again with my last one for the year....

I love to work on canvas!

I adore this photo that I found on Pinterest.

For this layout I used two photos.

Once again, 

for the back ground I mixed the nuvo shimmer powder - Atlantis Burst 

and applied to the canvas. 

Re-applying several times to get the desired effect. 

Also splatting, including Prima sparks - Unicorn hair.

I stencilled using a music note, 

and stamped with Christmas stamps.

The painting all chippies with dusty Capri paint, 

let dry and touching up with Prima sparks.

I included white netting to the back ground and layered from there.

I also used gold netting as well as flowers.

I attached 2 little glitter birds.

For the background I used 49 and Market's Winters Edge- Salutations. I ripped it in 2 pieces then did some stencil work using the Starry Night Stencil, DA Texture Paste & sprinkled on the TH vintage glitter on to the wet paste.....I did some snow effects on the corrugated paper using the DA texture paste & sprinkled on the glass glitter onto the wet paste. Once this had all dried I glued all these pieces together......

I primed the chipboard with clear gesso, then painted on some clear crackle onto some of the pieces, and used gold liquid pearls on the Cosmic Swirl. Once the crackle & Pearls dried I painted the pieces with the iridescent gold Silk & did some snow effects on wish..... .....
