Hello everyone and welcome to my first ever Dusty Attic blogpost!

My name is Valia Katzaki and I am a shabby scrapper from sunny Greece. I love chipboard and flowers, is there any better scrappy combination? Dusty Attic has the most amazing designs and I couldnt be more thankful to Jennifer Hedger and Jen Burns for having me on the team!
This is a dream come true for me!

Let me say that opening my DT package was a thrilling experience. All these beautiful products, the chipboard, the flowers, the acrylics and the stencils inspired me to scrap in a most romantic way.
Here is our January moodboard
To enter just add your link to the top right hand side of the blog - you could be the lucky winner of a $100 Dusty Attic Gift voucher

And this is my layout

I treated the backgroung with a script DA stencil and Shimmerz Texturez.

The word "Special" was first primed with gesso and then painted with Twinkling H2Os. I cut the corners from the elegant chain and I tucked them in my clusters. To achieve a different shade of the same color, I used the same paint but I didnt gesso the piece first. I treated the Scrolls the same way.

I painted the Ivy corners with Finnabair Mica Powder mixed with gloss medium. I generously dabbed the leaves with paint to get extra texture. When the leaves were dry, I dilluted Dusty in Color Raisin with lots of water and I washed the leaves in oder to highlight the raised areas. It gave the leaves a kind of succulent look.

REMEMBER
all chipboard can be purchased direct from the Dusty Attic website, and there is free shipping when you order over $75.00 worth world wide.

The Dusty Attic chipboard pieces were so amazing that I couldnt help myself so I made two cards as well. For the first card I used a piece of the Tickets set and the ATC Frame #4

For the second card, I used the inside leftover of the ATC frame as a frame for my sentiment. Even the leftovers are too great not to use!

Great Outdoors - Lisa Gregory

Hello Dusty Attic Lovers!! I bring to you the Great Outdoors! My daughter is a chef, as well as an avid fisherwoman. When Grouper is in fishing season in Florida, she hops onto a charter boat to get the catch of the day. I "fished" through my Dusty Attic stash to find foliage that reminded me of the sea. This is what I came up with.

I followed through the theme with papers that has fishies on them. I love the colors of the sea, and had to compliment them with an accent color of coral. I used the Dusty Attic Corrugated Cardboard to accent and lift the layout giving it dimension. I painted it using Dusty In Colour Hot Chocolate, then sprayed it with Lindys shimmering spray to highlight the blues in the paper.

I painted the chipboard with the Dusty In Colour in Hot Chocolate and sprayed it with color once the acrylic dried. It is a real deep rich chocolate color. I love it! Perfect for tree bark, or leafy stems.

I did  the same to the title wi the brown base and spray. I love that you can still see the brown under the blue. Kind of like a rusted patina look.

I used a different color spray to highlight the Swirly Vine. More of a coral gold
ish color. The brown lends a nice base for the sprays. I just wanted a little shimmer for this layout.

I really love the Laurel Sprigs. They would also make a nice filler in a floral cluster.

Thank you for joining me for my first post in 2016. I am looking forward to a creatively productive year with Dusty Attic. I hope you keep coming back for inspiration from our delicious Design Team!! They are truly amazing!!

Until we meet again...
xoxo

Moments - Tina Rutledge - January Mood Board inspiration

HAPPY AUSTRALIA DAY

If you are taking this day off to create, why not try the January Mood Board ?

This is TINA RUTLEDGE's inspiration for you

Moments

The Mood board for January is just so beautiful, turquoise and pink combined together with Dusty Attic chippies is just lovely isn't it? Even a bit of Colour Blast shimmer too.  Today I'm sharing my layout inspired by all this yummy goodness.

Here is the January Mood Board

I used the beautiful Ornate Frame Set as center stage for my layout. It was treated with gesso, white acrylic paint, crackle. Once the crackle was dried, I lightly inked it with some chalk ink and rubbed away the excess. I also used some Foliage #2 . The foliage was treated the same as the frame. I absolutely adore the chippie foliage, leafy stems and assorted leaves for around my flower clusters:)

I also added in some texture with the Creative Script Stencil and Dusty Attic Texture Paste. Before the paste was dry I lightly spritzed it with the amazing COLOUR BLAST spray in envy, such a pretty minty pastel green matched perfectly with my colors. Easy to apply smooth spray to add a little shimmer.

I also used the Tickets and choose the moments for my title.

I hope you have been inspired to create something with this beautiful January Mood Board. There is a $100 Dusty Attic voucher to win. Thanks for stopping in today! Happy Creating!

Today - January Mood Board inspiration - Joanne Bain

Joanne here today sharing my latest creation created for the gorgeous new Dusty Attic January Mood Board Challenge. The challenge has an amazing prize of a $100 Dusty Attic Gift Voucher for the winner and to enter you simply need to use the Mood Board for Inspiration, you can interpret it anyway you like. The only requirement is that Dusty Attic chipboard is used in your creation. Once completed simply add your link to the right side bar of the Dusty Attic Blog.

So this is the January Mood Board.

Isn't it stunning!!!

And this is my interpretation.

'Today'

I was inspired by the colours as they are simply beautiful, the overall textures on the board and all of those lovely pink flowers.

I chose to keep my page quiet simple and let the clustering of the gorgeous Dusty chipboard shine. How cute are those chippy flowers which were so easy to create by simply wetting the chipboard and pulling apart slightly.
