Anne-Marie layout by Pascale B Scrap

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on Dusty Attic blog with a vintage layout with a photo of one of my great aunts.

To begin, I primed the background with Clear Gesso. Next, I added a design with Floral #2 Stencil and Pearl Icing paste. When the paste was dry, I added some brown and black Distress inks to make the design pop up.

I covered the Ornat Circle #2 with embossing powder that I was careful not to melt down completely to obtain a non-even surface.

I primed all the chipboards I have selected with white gesso. Then I simply distressed the edges with black and brown inks.

I attached a few ephemera under the photo, and then I made a cluster with Spring Bloom #3, Wildflower #4, Foliage #25, and a couple Poppy Heads. I added a few white flowers to the composition which  I altered with Distress inks as they were too white.

I also included a Pocket Watch to remind the one concealed in her pocket. In the photo, we can definitely make out the chain.

To finish, I splattered the background with glitter mixed with gel medium and water.

If you think my hands are full... - Rikki G - Mood Board Inspiration

Good morning how are you?
There's nothing like a little cold weather to get creating, and just to play around in my studio, with a hot cup of coffee or two.  With that in mind why don't you give the Dusty Attic Moodboard a go and why wouldn't you want to?

Isn't it stunning?

49 & Market ARToptions Plum Grove, ARTSpectrum Rubons and leaves.
Dusty Attic Chipboard - Mandala, Ornate Circle Frames, Elegant Chain, Title.

The way I started was give all the chipboard a spray with white spray paint. Once it was dry add a photo to the ornate frame.

Foam mount the mandala to the centre of the page, alternatively use the out side of the chipboard cut out and glue it to give you layers..... its the perfect way to save some money on foam tape and help cut down your waste.

Also the money you save on the tape means you can buy more Dusty Chipboard right ?

Add the photo to the centre of the mandala, also using some left over chipboard to add some height.... Then add the elegant chain to the base of the frame also mounting to add some layers between the two pieces.

I added some rubons to the background to make a little Ombre effect.

Then added the title to the left hand side.

Now its all about the finishing touches, some acetate leaves and some leave rubons.

To complete the look I added a lot of rhinestones throughout the background.

I hope this inspires you to play along with the mood board.

Elegant Clockworks - Judith Tijsen - Mood Board Inspiration

Hello dear Dusty Attic fans,

This time I have a round tray in the shape of a clock. The shape of chipboard circle DA2271 fits exactly over the tray. So this is a nice border for an elegant clock.

The colours I used for this clock come from this month's mood board.
You can find the mood board at the bottom of this post.

In the middle of the tray you see chipboard clockworks DA1750.

For the beautiful 3D effect there is an iron frame on which I have glued various chipboard gears.

At the bottom of the tray I glued the largest gears from chipboard set DA0327.

Used Dusty Attic chipboard:

You could win $50 AUD credits to the Dusty Attic online store. The only requirement is that you have Dusty Attic chipboard on your creation and enter your project on the Dusty FANattics Page

This is the moodboard of the month March.

Girls just want to have fun - Rikki G - Sketch and Mood board Inspiration

Good morning how are you? I am here today with a little hybrid of the two Dusty Attic challenges. Remember you still have time to do either the sketch or mood board or if your feeling extra creative why don't you enter twice, that will give you two chances to go into the draw and what's better than that?

So here's a reminder of the Mood board...

And here is the reminder of the sketch which I rotated so the photos ran down the page.....

Ok where to start... there's a few key Dusty Attic Chipboard pieces that start the layout off and helps work your fussy cut layers in the layout.

Starting off with Door #3, add some foam mount or scrap chipboard to the back so you can add things underneath the door.

Now glue the left hand edge of the Ornate Circle frames to the door it will suspend the frame so you can add things in between the layers.

Add you photo, I used 2 layers worth of scrap chipboard to sit in the frame, this adds another layer.

Now add your fussy cutting.

Add your title to the right hand side of the photo, then add a selection of Grass Clusters around the frame.

Add some Ivy Vines throughout the layers.

Make a little cluster of Hanging Mason Jars

Add cluster of Broken Bits Honey Comb to your background.

Till next time have creative day.
