Elegant Clockworks - Judith Tijsen - Mood Board Inspiration

Hello dear Dusty Attic fans,

This time I have a round tray in the shape of a clock. The shape of chipboard circle DA2271 fits exactly over the tray. So this is a nice border for an elegant clock.

The colours I used for this clock come from this month's mood board.
You can find the mood board at the bottom of this post.

In the middle of the tray you see chipboard clockworks DA1750.

For the beautiful 3D effect there is an iron frame on which I have glued various chipboard gears.

At the bottom of the tray I glued the largest gears from chipboard set DA0327.

Dream - Judith Tijsen

Hello to you all,

Dusty Attic recently released a incredible new line. And they are all industrial objects.

One of my favorite new chipboards is definitely the fantastically cute and adorable seahorse.

The seahorse is available in two sizes. Namely product number DA3359(large) and DA3358(small).

For this project I used the large size.

The basis of this project is a box that I have edited with the Burlap stencil.

Grateful Friendship - Judith Tijsen

Hi there,

Here I am with another post. I really enjoyed making this one. It has become a real mixed media project.

I often go to a thrift shop here in my neighbourhood and that is were I found this wooden bread board.

I made the first layer with brown acrylic paint.

Then I applied crackle paste here and there.

The next layer again with brown acrylic paint and another layer with sea green paint.

Then I partially removed it again with a cloth.

You are so beautiful - Rikki G - Mood Board Inspiration

Good morning how are you all? New month and a new Moodboard for Dusty Attic and I have to say its amazing!!!  This is one of my most favourite colour palettes to work with and you can see why.....

So please follow along on how I created the very layered layout, and dont forget to play along with this months moodboard.

So to start off the layout I used the Mandala #1 – by Nuneka and I did a huge amount of foam tape to get a lot of height, there is 4 layers as you can tell I am not afraid to add height, it allows me the freedom to add all my elements under and over and this helps when I do my glitter work.

The it was about the fussy cut mandala, it needed a bit of scalpel work I wanted to show the under layers of the first chipboard and once again its a great place to catch the glitter. It also has foam tape to add another layer.

Next add the photo, yes that also has foam tape in between is mat layers..... Then to add more layers add the Rainbow #4 small  add cloud over and under the rainbow, this is where the height on the mandalas helps.

Now to add some interest, I ran out of feathers but I wanted a dream catcher look for the mandala, so I needed to get thinking the Tropical Foliage #10 kind of looks like feathers and they are a great substitute when you dont have the real thing..... dont forget to layer them up and also group them together to give a better feather effect.

Time to add the chains throughout the layout, dont forget to add them in between the multiple layers!!!

Now comes the decorating of butterflies and resin flowers and tassels....

Finish off the layout with a title, bling and of course glitter....

I hope this inspires you to play along with this months moodboard.

Till the next time, have a creative day
