Keep Smiling ... " - Pascale B

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on Dusty Attic blog with a new mixed media canvas.

To begin, I covered the canvas with Paper paste. Then I used liquid acrylic paints to color the paste: I added several layers of paints and I dried in between each layers to obtain the effect of an old wall.

I primed all the chipboards with white gesso. I used a foam to do it to be able to add a thin layer.

I colored the Lemon Leaves with Advocado and Umber liquid acrylics. I have selected different elements from Foliage Cluster #1, #2 & #3 and from the Botanic Mix #1 & 3. I used the same colors for the leaves of all these elements. I added Tiger Eye's Stone Jewel paste to the flowers of the different elements.

I covered the frame with metallic flakes, then with clear crackle paste. And to finish, I added sepia wax to highlight the cracks.

To finish, I added some Golden Dragon paste and glitter.

You and Me - Patricia Basson

Hello dear Blogfriends...
Today I am sharing a page for Dusty Attic using one of the photos taken during the Photoshoot we had as a family a few month ago, this is me and Hubby...
I used paper and cutouts from the Craft O'clock collection, Time of Reflections.

I first gesso'd the Botanical Ring and the Lemon Leaves. The leaves I colored by pressing a Delicata Golden Glitz Inkpad from Tsukineko onto them a few times. It really gave a rich Golden color to them.
I used Art Alchemy waxes, Vintage Silk and Sweet Rose on the Botanical Ring and the Leafy Scroll. Both pieces were cut and placed on either side of my photo.

The Swirly Flourish and Mini Caption I colored by mixing Liquid Metals, Metallic Mandarin from Ken Oliver and Alizarin Crimson Brushos powder with some liquid Gel medium resulting in the beautiful two-toned effect. I thinned the mixture with some water and painted the Brackets and Word Tag with it.

Some flowers, Lace, Skeleton Leaves, Chunky Glitter and Metallic Flakes are added to finish this loving page...

From the Dusty Attic On-line shop I used the following products.

The Beauty of Nature is all around - Patricia Basson - MoodBoard Inspiration

Hello Dusty friends...
Once again Autumn is creeping up on us here in South Africa! My favorite time of the year, going into winter which I absolutly love...I found this beautiful image on Pinterest and used it to create this lovely page as my Dusty Attic Moodboard project .
I used the following papers from 49 & Market, Clockworks from Scents of Nature as background and Wallflower from Vintage  Artistry. I kept the footnote from Clockworks as my title, could not let it go to waste.
I punched a small circle in the center of my paper with a Marta Steward punch and did some hand-stitching on the page.

I Gesso'd the Flower Vine, I then covered it with Ancient Pink Glamor Paste from Stamperia. Then used some Red Amber wax from Finnabair in the center and Old White wax on the edges.
On the raw Lemon Leaves and Blooms I used White Gold and Graphite wax.

The Oars and the tree stump of the Seagull I painted with Raw Umber and Raw Sienna Acrylic paints. I added Clear Rock Candy crackle paint from Ranger and when dry some Old White wax on the edges. The Seagull was coloured with some Graphite wax and black Distress Ink and Old White wax on the edge.

I embossed the raw Tea Leaves with Earthone Pepper Embossing Powder from WOW, sprayed some Saxifrage Olive Copper Spray from Lindy's Stampgang on the warm embossing and heat it again creating the lovely droplets effects!

Different flowers , A Penny Saved Prills and Henna Mica Flakes complete this page.

From the Dusty Attic On-line shop I used the following chipboard designs...

Thank you for taking the time to read my post...Till next time, Happy Crafting!

There is a pleasure in the pathless woods,
There is a rapture on the lonely shore,
There is society, where none intrudes,
By the deep Sea, and music in its roar:
I love not Man the less, but Nature more...
