And finish with Gloss varnish

Here you can see the video tutorial:

Hope you like it!

"STRENGTH"

Hi everyone
I have done my ATC sideways
The background I have created is from the
Riverts embossing folder from Tim Holtz with Distress ink over the top.

I have then used a Moulds by Mel Screw and Nut mould
(how awesome to have a flat back big screw that doesnt weigh anything!)

Attached to the screw with wire are the Dusty Attic   cogs and Nuts and Screws

Thanks for looking
Will be back in a few days with a layout
Jenny

Hi everyone!  Natasha here with my Industrial ATC for this month.  I have used Cogs, Mini Cogs and Cyclone Wire.  I have also added bits of Dusty corrugated card!  Love that stuff!  Hope you play along and create an Industrial ATC too! Many hugs,

ATC Shadow Boxes and ATC

Hi everyone
I just wanted to show you the Dusty Attic 3D ATC - this is the size of an ATC 3.5x2.5
and the ATC Shadow Box - the inside HOLDS an ATC
so you can decorate it how you like and change the ATC's inside
if you so desire

They both come flat or corse and you just fold it and
pop the tabs in and glue the edges closed

So this ATC is made to fit my theme for the Shadow Box
It fits snuggly so I dont have to glue it in if I dont
want to so I can change it when I want to

This is one of the Shadow Boxes done as a decoration
for her Daughter's room by Belinda Spencer

And a 3D ATC from Belinda as well

DA DT - ATC Shadow Box

This Shadow Box was made by Jen Hedger
for Halloween - Totally love the Texture Paste mini
brick wall here !

Oct ATC - frightful twilight with ATC shadow box

Hope you give them a try - dont forget to load them into the Ning site
if you do so we can all have a look

See you soon

'Vintage Charm' Layout by Mistra Hoolahan DT

'Vintage Charm' by Mistra

Hi again everyone!  Today I have a sweet and shabby layout to share with you.  The photo is of my beautiful god-daughter modelling vintage clothes for a store in her town... I loved the whole vintage look of it.

I have used the ever so delicate Flower Buds as a feature on this layout.  They are truly beautiful and add just that wisp of detail that some layouts need.   I've added some Flutterbies #3 fluttering about the flower buds, as they do... and also used the Paddock Fence to help frame the scene.

Everything was painted white with Dusty in Colour Alabaster Acrylic Paint, it's perfect for these delicate chipboard cuts because you only really need one coat, which helps avoid damage.

The buds and wing tips of the flutterbies were dabbed with a little glue and then sprinkled with fairy dust glitter.

The title uses Typewriter ABC Set, which was painted white and then swiped with peach chalk ink, and that's all it needed to create a shabby chic look.

Thanks for visiting today, until next time, take care of you!

"Carefree" - Louise Collins

Today I would like to show you all how I turned
a pretty lace Dusty Attic chipboard piece
into a grungy embellishment for a boys layout...

'Carefree'

To create this I took one of the DA Lacey Corners and covered it in black Acrylic Paint.

When this is dry, sand the edges of the piece to distress and roughen it up.

Adhere metal cogs to the pieces and add dots of liquid pearls. Sprinkle dry embossing powder in silver over the wet dots.

When this had all dried, I added it to my page with some monochrome embellishments and hints of blues for a perfectly masculine layout!

"Sail away" - Helena Johansson

Sail away

My dad passed away 1 1/2 years ago and I miss him endlessly. He loved to sail and when I was going through some of his personal belongings the other day, I found this photo of him. I think it was taken sometimes in the 90's, but I'm not sure. I don't know who took this photo, but it is so "dad". This is how I imagine him now, sailing and not in pain anymore.

I have used several Dusty Attic chippies for this layout. Underneath the large flowercluster I have a Leafy Scroll (DA0764) and I have also used the smaller of the Sweet Pea Frames and corners (DA0573. I painted all the chippies with Dusty in Color, Alabaster (DA0902), Capri (DA0915) and Oceania (DA0912). I used the same colors of paint on my background paper too, to let the chippies and papers melt together.

Finally I painted two mini Birds #3 (DA0727) with white enamel accents.

Here are some close-ups for you!

Lots of layers and dimension:

I have used a sponge to add texture paste on the background paper, both before and after I painted with the Dusty in Colors.

"Home (among the gum trees)" Layout - DT Belinda

"Home (among the gum trees)" Layout by Belinda Spencer DT

Hi all!!

Today I have a layout to share with you featuring the gorgeous "Gum Trees" chipboard and Dusty In Colour paints.

I started this layout by creating a layered base using various templates, gesso and Glimmermist...

Next I painted my "Gum Trees" chipboard using various Dusty In Colour paints. I squeezed the various colours that I wanted to use onto my paint palette (a plastic plate!) and then grabbed a little of each colour with a make-up sponge and applied to the chipboard using a dabbing motion. I really love these paints. The colours and coverage are just fabulous. :-)

You can see from the above photo that I added some "Clouds" too painted with "Navajo White".

Here's a close-up...

March ATCs by Belinda, Helena, Louise & Mistra

March ATCs by Belinda, Helena, Louise & Mistra

Today we have some more amazing ATCs to share with you for this month's cool theme... INDUSTRIAL!

'Industrial Disease' by Belinda Spencer

As soon as I saw the theme for this month's atc challenge, I thought of that old Dire Straits song "Industrial Disease" so I took my quote from the lyrics by Mark Knopfler from that song. I used a fabulous stamp from Darkroom Door for my 'Industrial' man. I also thought of that tv advertisement for flu shots here in Australia. You know the one. The woman sneezing in extreme slow motion. Not pretty. Anyway, I took inspiration from that and tried to make it look like my man was sneezing nuts, bolts and washers. It's strange the way my mind works sometimes! LOL

Thanks for checking out my atc. I do hope you will join in the challenge!

'Industrial Evolution' by Mistra

Hi everyone!!  Today I have my March Dusty Attic ATC to share with you.  This month's theme of "Industrial" had me grabbing out some mini cogs, bricks and a mini grass cluster... I wanted to show that even though we are still such an industrial world, nature left to it's own devices will always peek through.

I even found some rusted bits in my stash... knew I was holding onto these for a reason!

The cool coach screw {I think that's what my hubby called it} is cast in resin from a mould from Moulds by Mel, she's got some fabulous designs for all kinds of things now!

The chipboard cogs were painted with Golden Iridescent Stainless Steel Acrylic paint, it has a wonderful rough texture and is perfect for the cogs.  I added a little Adobe Mix'd Media Inx to the edges to help them match my rusty bits.

The texture on the bricks was created with embossing powders, I have a tutorial for them HERE.

Thanks for stopping by, until next time, take care of you!!

'Treasures' by Helena

March ATC

I had so much fun creating this months ATC with the theme Industrial! I was a bit scared first, I mean, this is so not my usual style!! But once I got started, the pieces just came to place, and I'm quite happy with the result.

I have used a small Cobblestone Panel (DA0828) and cut it so it would fit my ATC. Before I glued it into place, I painted the ATC with Dusty in Color - Soot (DA0925), and after I glued the panel I painted the whole ATC with Vintage Gold (DA0926), using a sponge. Then I painted a mini Lamp Post (DA0754) with black enamel accents and glued it to place. Then I searched my little treasue box for metal pieces and found some chinese coins, a screw and a couple of buttons from old jeans, and a lamp from Ingild Bolme, and glued everything on my ATC. I then painted everything but the lamp with some Soot paint. Finally I put Clear Crackle Varnish (DA0900) in some of the cobble holes. This gives a pretty cool effect!

'Pieces of Life' by Louise

I spritzed and distressed the corrugated cardboard, then stapled some pieces of the mini chicken wire, painted black, to the corners. I painted the cogs in silver acrylic and layered them up with metal embellishments.
I used Mini Chicken Wire, Corrugated cardboard & Cogs 1.
