Show up... - Pascale B - Mood Board Inspiration

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm on Dusty Attic blog with a mixed media panel inspired by the June color combo.

Here is the lovely combo of color.

I cut a piece of clear acrylic to add under the frame. I add a design with the Flourish stencil and Rose Gold Icing paste. When the paste was completely dry, I added some nuance to the Icing paste with different waxes to match the June colors.

I primed the MDF frame with white gesso, then I added an uneven layer of plaster paste. When dry, I add an uneven layer of white crackle paste this time.

While it dried, I primed the selected chipboards with black gesso.
I colored the flowers of the Mini Vines with the Eggplant Impasto, then I added a touch of Heather Hill wax. I used the Charcoal Black matte wax to color the Ferns, then highlight the details with Old Denim and White Gold waxes.

For the Tropical Foliage, I used Old Denim, Graphite, and Heather Hill waxes. I waxed the Wrought Iron Fence as well as the birdhouse with Graphite and White Gold.

I colored the frame with liquid acrylic paints and when dry, I give a vintage look with an antiquing paste. I glued all the elements of the composition and added a few flowers.

To finish I added some glitters.

Thank you Cards - Aneta Nasionkowska - Mood Board Inspiration

Hey my dears!

This time I have two similar cards for you, made on request as a thank you for talented teachers from grateful students. It's a nice class, which appreciates the experience and time spent, especially when it is a free training. I am glad that there are such grateful people, at least I have interesting challenges in my workshop.

If you listen to the wind........ - Tina Ollett - Moodboard Inspiration

Thankyou for returning here today. I have my interpretation of this month's moodboard.
I absolutely adore the colours of this moodboard and knew exactly what papers I would use.

It was when I was going through the paper collection of Maja Design's new release "Miles Apart" that I came across a quote from the barcode strip of "Keep in touch", that I knew this was my starting point.

The quote reads:
"If you listen to the wind very carefully, you'll be able to hear me whisper my love for you".
Just beautiful don't you think? So I found my photo to work with this and went to work. I made lots of layers using torn papers from the Maja collection in the tones of the blues and apricot as in the moodboard below. I couldn't believe really how close these colours were.

They are as listed below.

Keep in touch "A"

"Keep in touch "B"

"Keeping Busy" "A"

"Keeping Busy" "B"

I did a little embossing in white around the outside of the background using a stitching stamp. I also added in some texture using white crackle paste and some random stamping in Archival Ink in Watering Can. The barstrip with the quote was cut up and distressed.

I used a number of gorgeous pieces of Dusty Chipboards some you will probably have to look very hard to see but they are there. For me it is all about the layers. So starting off once all my paper layers were down I added in the new release chipboard the "Flowering Vine". I have used the smaller vine from this pack. It was dressed in white crackle paste along with Inka Golds in the colours of mint and apricot.

Another of the new release pieces I used was the Foliage #26 packs.

This was simply dressed with white gesso and a little Rust Paste from the Old Walls Rust Effect Pastes was used very randomly over it.

Next I did a lot of layering using these three pieces of chipboards.

All three of these gorgeous pieces were dressed firstly in white crackle paste and then coloured with Rust Paste in Blue and inked with Ground Espresso Distress Ink. You will see how they were layered in the photos below.

And also a couple of other additions added in amongst my flower clusters are the Broken Bits 9 - Brick and some cut sections from the Wrought Iron fence.

Oh and 1 of the gorgeous keys from the Vintage Keys set .

Lots of lace and leaves with pretty flower pearls and muslin were also added in amongst these layers.

Well that is all from me today. I do hope you have enjoyed this blogpost. I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very blessed and safe Christmas and New Year
Can't wait to see you all back here again next year.
Thanks for calling by.

Some Kind of wonderful - Patricia Basson

And we are off to another year of Creative Magic here at Dusty Attic with a brand new Design Team with old returning, and new Team members for the Year!!! As usual I am very privileged and honored to stay another Year!!!

For this first project of the year I altered a big Wooden Spoon {18', 47 cm}. Let's just say it was made to pay homage to all the wooden spoons ever broken on some unlucky Bum or Hands!!!

First it was primed with white Gesso. Randomly applied white crackle paste and Strata Paste by Cosmic Shimmer. Once dry I painted using Dusty in Color Sunburned Orange and Sunshine Paints. I layered the two bigger elements of the Wrought Iron Design Set and the Luxury Scroll. Both were painted with the same paints as well as Dusty Pink on the Scroll.

The title was Gesso'd and painted with Art Alchemy Paints, Spring Blossom and Stormy Ocean. I added highlights with Peacock wax on the spoon and the Chipboard pieces.

For decorations I used a Prima floral Heart and a Resin Bird as well as flowers from my stash and some from 49 and Market.

I tucked some Mini Vines, painted with Stormy Ocean, between my flowers.

Please visit the well stocked Online Store with the all new 2020 January releases added already!

I used the following products...
