such a Great Day to remember - Belinda Spencer

Hello Dusty FANattics!!

It's Belinda here today with my first post for the new year! I have created a super girly layout featuring one of the stunning chipboard dream catchers as well as some fabulous mini designs.

'Great Day'

I used the beautiful Mandala Stencil on my background paper to add some interest to the left hand side of the main area on my layout. I used heavy white gesso with the stencil and applied using a latex make-up wedge in a light dabbing motion for a lovely smooth application.

I used the same gesso (It's my go to product!!) to colour the dream catcher, mini butterflies, caption and mini foliage.

I used a feather stamp with some pink Archival Ink to add some detail to the feathers on the dream catcher.

Did you spy that sweet little mini banner in there? I covered that with an off cut of the patterned paper I used. I added double-sided tape to the back of the paper, removed the backing tape and then pressed the banner onto it before cutting out with a craft knife.

Thank you for stopping by the blog today. I hope you are feeling refreshed and inspired for the new year to grab your Dusty Attic supplies and have a play.

Cheers

Girls just want to have fun - Adri Du Preez - Mood Board Inspiration

Hello everyone!

Here is my layout inspired by the pretty fun filled January mood board.

This is my daughter and her best friend. I had so much fun doing this photo shoot with them.  I packed a suitcase full of hats and clothes and off we went. I am so thankful that my family are always willing to pose for me.  Sometimes under duress but at least I get the job done.

For this layout I used one of Jennifer Hedger's magic sketches.  This is the mood board and sketch.

and this is my layout.

The chipboard pieces were simply covered with white gesso and painted with acrylic paint. The viewfinders were dry brushed with white gesso. The edges of the chevrons were sanded.

When everything was glued down I added splatters with diluted white gesso and black ink.

These are the  Dusty Attic chipboard pieces that I used.

Some Kind of wonderful - Patricia Basson

And we are off to another year of Creative Magic here at Dusty Attic with a brand new Design Team with old returning, and new Team members for the Year!!! As usual I am very privileged and honored to stay another Year!!!

For this first project of the year I altered a big Wooden Spoon {18', 47 cm}. Let's just say it was made to pay homage to all the wooden spoons ever broken on some unlucky Bum or Hands!!!

First it was primed with white Gesso. Randomly applied white crackle paste and Strata Paste by Cosmic Shimmer. Once dry I painted using Dusty in Color Sunburned Orange and Sunshine Paints. I layered the two bigger elements of the Wrought Iron Design Set and the Luxury Scroll. Both were painted with the same paints as well as Dusty Pink on the Scroll.

The title was Gesso'd and painted with Art Alchemy Paints, Spring Blossom and Stormy Ocean. I added highlights with Peacock wax on the spoon and the Chipboard pieces.

For decorations I used a Prima floral Heart and a Resin Bird as well as flowers from my stash and some from 49 and Market.

I tucked some Mini Vines, painted with Stormy Ocean, between my flowers.

Please visit the well stocked Online Store with the all new 2020 January releases added already!

I used the following products...
