You colour my world - Rikki G - Mood Board Inspiration

Good morning how are you? Once in a while you get a brain wave and take your clues from what is trending in fashion.... especially with colour trends. I am drawn to the earth tones at the moment, probably because we are building and then designing the rooms with new furniture and bedding etc, so they are the tones I am looking to do for our darling daughter.

So when it came to choosing papers it was in the back of my mind I think.... I have to say I am happy that they where as its a colour palette I never would naturally go to, and lets face it the 49& Market papers with the NEW Dusty Attic Chipboard tend to go hand in hand, dont you think?

So to kick off I have a series of photos and rather than do a few layouts or a couple of doubles I go to my go to flip out booklet style scrapbooking.. hidden layers under a feature top.

And what's better than that? Especially if your filling up scrapbook albums quicker than you can buy them.

Rather than crop down my photos I like to use the negative space to add my chipboard on you can use titles or how about a little rainbow or gnome!!!

So to add a little interest in on your layout why not grab a boarder punch and add details to the top and bottom of your pages.

Dont forget to grab your washi tape, and fussy cut out some leaves, yes you can fussy cut washi and it works out really well, because you get a transparent look with it on your page.

To create this look I used a little bit of left over macramé cord, from when I do my hanging plant holders just a few little knots and then you just comb out the cord and you have made a feature out of the rainbow.

Add a little sprinkling of 49 & Market flowers throughout your chipboard layers.

So if your feeling inspired why dont you enter into this months mood board, till next time have a creative day.

You Colour My World

Sweet, Happy, Adore - Adri Du Preez - Mood Board Inspiration

Hello everyone!

Here is my layout inspired by the stunning November mood board, and featuring Dusty Attic chipboard pieces.

This is my daughter and her beautiful family.

Here is the mood board

and here is my layout.

All the chippies were first covered with white gesso, except for the barb wire frame.  I painted the barb wire frame using a sponge brush and Americana Acrylic paint in Burnt Umber, Georgia Clay, and True Ochre, and then dry brushed with white gesso.

I first covered the seed pods, Foliage #25 with clear gesso and then Distress Oxide in Black Soot, Walnut Stain and Ground Espresso.  Press the three Distress Oxide Ink pads onto a craft mat and spritz with water creating small droplets.  I started with Vintage Photo for the base color and slid the chippies through the droplets a few times and dry with a heat tool. Repeat with all the colors and dry in between. I also splattered the chippies with the same colors for a mottled effect.

I painted the Foliage #28 with Americana Acrylic paint in Lush Foliage and the Foliage #24 in White.

The Wild grass #3 were colored in the same manner as the seed pods.  I painted the Grass Cluster with Americana Acrylic paint in Arbor Green and dry brushed with white gesso.
These toadstools are just stunning!  They were painted with Americana Acrylic paint in Oyster Beige, Traditional Burn Umber and Naphthol Red and dry brushed with white gesso. The stems were edged with Brilliance Pearlescent in Chocolate.

I inked the Wood Slices with Brilliance Pearlescent in Chocolate and edged with Graphite Black.

The Paddock Fence was painted with Americana Acrylic paint in Lamp Black, and Slate Grey, then dry brushed with white gesso.

Here you can see how I used my favorite mini tabs.

I have painted the word with Americana Acrylic paint in White.

Some close ups.

These are the Dusty Attic chipboard pieces that I have used.

Paradise isn't a place, it's a feeling - Kristy Abela

 Hi FanAttics

I created this project while my local government area had been put into HARD lock down, meaning no leaving the house AT ALL unless its for groceries or medical emergencies. So when you see my page you are going to understand that these kinds of pages are created when you take for granted being able to connect with the ocean. I am so grateful for the Vaccination status of NSW and I have since re-connected. The ocean sets my soul free and I'm mustering all my happy vibes to get my HSC guy through the next few weeks...

The background was created by my brayer and water soluble crayons. I used a stencil to create areas of interest and then used white gesso to calm down the noise in the background and help focus the eye.

I added some collage papers to the background to build a focal point. I also used some metallic paste to create texture.

I used my hack to thin down chipboard. Take your scalpel and gently run it through a layer of chipboard on the back. this makes it thin enough to use in your journal. go slow and remember to not go too thin on the first attempt. you can always take more off but you cant out it back on...

I used some chalk paints and a sponge to add colour and create a smooth transition between colours.

I used some calico and wood wool to create a base for my photo. I tore the photo and inked the edges to create a frame and places a word sentiment on top. Thanks for looking and I hope you use chipboard in your journals too...
