Dusty Attic's latest chipboard release futured the cutest Marine Mechanical sea creatures!

Today I have used the Small Seahorse and dressed her all feminine and be-jeweled

all ready for a night on the Town...or should I say a night on the Coral Reef....

I used a sheet of Blue Fern Studio paper, Juliann's Dream from the Ombre Dreams collection to cover my Notebook. I primed the paper with a layer of clear Gesso and used a Stamperia Stencil, Steampunk, and crackle paste to add texture to the background and the edges of the book. 

The chipboards were primed with white Gesso. I then painted them all with Honey Mustard Paint from Deco Art. And then I just went ahead and played with several paints and waxes until I was satisfied with the look. I wanted a bit of a girly look for her, therefor I used Pinks and Purples and Yellows...She got a Crown on her head and a few Gemstones too add to her Party look...and Yes...I forgot to glue her little Diamond eye on, she does have it on now at least...

To color I used the following, Iris from Cadence, Crackling Campfire and Saltwater Taffy Distress Paints and Flickering Candle Mica Stain from Tim Holtz, Shabby Pink and Sweet Rose Waxes from Finnabair.

Hi dear Bloggie friends...

Today I am bringing you a project using the gorgeous May colours on the Dusty Attic Moodboard. Ranging in different shades of Blue and with a Beachy theme I created this Heart shape wall hanging. 

I covered it with some Decoupage paper from Stamperia. Also stencilled with some  Translucent crackle Paste.  Then painted the background with Liquid Acrylic Paint, Prussian Blue and Magical Pond Sparks.

I started by applying a layer of Gesso to all the pieces. I then painted the Water Tower and the Wooden Fence with Stamperia Allegio Paints, Blue Aviation, Cookie and Earth. I also added touches of Rust effect paste, Brown, Dusty and Cool Grey. 

The Rainbow and Clouds, Jellyfish and Starfish were painted with Cookie and Indian Turquoise paints. The Star Fish and Jellyfish got a little Lava Paste that was heated to pop before the paints. Easy and great added texture. 

I embossed the Fancy Frame and Ocean Waves with Ranger Speckle Embossing Powder, Blueberry and Cosmic Shimmer's Industrial Revolution. Both beautiful multicoloured and textured. On the Gauss I sprinkled some 13Arts White shiny Glitter strips. Also added Art Stones and some small Seashells to finish the Beach theme. The Wood Slices only have the slightest lick of Gesso, leaving them with the gorgeous ring design.

Notes and Thoughts - Kristy Abela - Mood Board Inspiration

 Hi Fanattics...

I was playing in my journal, my secret passion, and needed to create a title and a focal point for my layout.

I started by painting the background black with gesso. I picked warm colours and created a pallet to use and a complimentary colour. This time I chose green. It made me feel like autumn. Always a winning colour pallet in my books. I added some marks with the back of a brush to create texture, crosshatching and some circles in by watering down the left over gesso on my craft mat and used my fingertip to create dots with the left over colours. I used some printed words from an encyclopaedia to create a theme. This one is Mythological. 

To add the chipboard, I used my scalpel to peel apart the layers. Go slowly so you don't tear the top layer. I then used a dry brush with paint to edge the chippy to create some definition.
