Reindeer Kisses - Adri Du Preez - Mood Board Inspiration

Hello everyone!

Welcome to the blog. Here is my layout inspired by the beautiful festive December mood board which features beautiful Dusty Attic chipboard pieces.

This is a photo of my precious son and daughter-in-law I took a few years ago during one of our photoshoots.

Here is the mood board.

and here is my layout.

All the chippies were first primed with a layer of white acrylic paint and then painted with Americana Acrylic paint.

I used the Oh My Heart ABC Set and Teeny Tiny ABC Set to create the title. I love the little laser-cut hearts on the letters. I painted the letters with Hauser Light Green and the one red "E" with Tuscan Red, and then lightly rubbed the letters with Platinum Stickles.  To the Reindeer word, I added glossy accents.

I lightly painted the Wordpl@y Festive Green and Hauser Light Green making sure I didn't cover the engraved words. The edges were dry brushed with Tuscan Red and white acrylic paint. How stunning are these Christmas labels?  The ho ho ho and Bali border were also painted with Tuscan Red.

I painted the stars with Sour Apple and Tuscan Red, and then lightly rubbed them with Platinum Stickles, and glossy accents.

The berries and mistletoe were painted with Tuscan Red and Hauser Light Green. The berries were covered with glossy accents.

I painted the Christmas Stockings with Tuscan Red and the Mini Scroll with white acrylic paint.

The final touches to this layout included beads, glitter, and splatters with diluted white gesso.

Merry Christmas - Pascale B - Mood Board Inspiration

Hello Sweeties,

Today, I'm up on Dusty Attic blog with another Xmas home decor. I used the amazing December color combo.

Here is the beautiful December color combo

I colored a large piece of watercolor paper with different inks in burgundy, pale pink and black. I used this paper to cover a MDF star that I have brought a few year ago in a dollar store and completely forget about it. It was perfect for the project I had in mind.

Next I added a design with a stencil and modeling paste. I sprinkled with a coral embossing powder while the paste was still wait and heat embossed. I replaced the stencil at the same places and entended the pattern with a brass wax.

As usual, I primed all the chipboard with white gesso before I colored them. I embossed the Vintage Frame #4 with a copper EP. I embossed the Christmas Berries #1 with a burgundy EP and the berries of the Mistletoe #2 with the coral EP I've used previously.

I painted the Foliage #11 and the Pine Sprig  #2 with black liquid acrylic, then I added the brass wax. For the Foliage #27 and Mistletoe #2, I used a brown liquid acrylic. I glued all my elements with 3D gel and I added a few flowers and a small bird.

To finish, I added glitter.

Christmas Home Decor - Pascale B Scrap

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on Dusty attic blog with a new Xmas home decor. This time I worked with very traditional colors: green, red, and white.

I primed the MDF with white gesso, then I added a design with a stencil and white crackle paste. I added some green paint to the background.

I primed all the chipboard with white gesso.

I painted the foliage #11, the Pine Sprig #2, Mistletoe #2 and the Holly # for with a green liquid acrylic and a magical. I added more or less of the Magical to intensify the color.

I wanted the Salsa flower to be really red, so I colored it with a red Magical that I used also to color the berries of the Holly #4. For the berries of the Mistletoe I simply used white gesso.

To finish, I added some glitter.

Love You- Michelle Van Oudtshoorn

Hello!

And just like that it is May! I seem to blink and it's a new month again ... Today I have a layout which has my whole heart on one page - albeit the photo was taken about 22 years ago.

My husband, son and daughter .....

When we lived in South Africa, there was house that used have these small train engines that used to pull seats behind it, through other houses in our neighbourhood, and my kids (particularly my son) would love going on these. It was a great family outing. Here my husband is sitting with both kids in front of him and holding them as they were about to leave on their little trip.

I have used a Mintay range of papers and ephemera to create my page. The Dusty Attic Chipboard used is DA2762 Mint leaves and DA3196 Mistletoe. These are painted with Art Alchemy Prima Metallic paint.

I first sanded the edges of my photo and adhered this to the page with foam tape, so that I was able to to tuck my flowers and leaves under the photo all around it.
The edges of the Mistletoe pieces were edged off with Glossy Accents to give it a bubble-dimension effect.

Once I completed the layering, I added the letters "love you" using the same paint and the the "Fun Times" Alphabet set DA2698.

These are the products I have used:

Thanks for visiting the blog today.

Take care,
Michelle

Winter - Pascale B

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on Dusty Attic blog with a new layout. I wanted to work in the tones of the photo, that is to say in shades of grey. I just added some gold to add some interest.

As usual, I primed the background with clear gesso. Next, I added a design with a stencil and the Crushed Ice effect paste. When dry, I added some white liquid acrylic to mimic the snow.

I decided to work mostly with waxes and metallic flakes to alter the chipboards. I used the gold metallic flakes to cover the berries from the Holiday Spray and the Christmas Berries #1. To alter the Small Snowflakes #1, I used silver metallic flakes.

I colored the leaves of the Holly #4 with Graphite and the berries with Vintage Gold waxes. For the Holiday Spray, I used the Charcoal one which is the darkest color. I painted the Mistletoe #2 berries with white paint and the leaves with Old Silver.

I used different waxes to colour the gnomes' clothes and the white Imposto for the beards.

To finish the layout, I added some silver and gold glitters.
