February Sketch - Helena Johansson

This months beautiful sketch, made by DT-member Nadia Cannizzo, really inspired me! I just had to use the brand new String of Hearts (DA1017). Such an amazing chipboard piece and you can use it in so many ways. The best thing is, you get three sizes! I have used the larger one on my layout.

I cut a piece of the Heart of Strings off (saving it for another project!) and painted it white. I used a distress tool to rough up the edges and decorated with pearls. 

Underneath the large flowercluster I have used a Scroll Border #1 (DA0219), also painted white. The green flowers are Dusty in Blooms, color Wild Moss (DA0804).

As a final touch I have added Chevrons (DA0992), painted white and then with Dusty in Color Forrest (DA0919) and Clear Gloss Varnish (DA0901). I often use gesso to touch the edges of my flowers, but this time I used a sponge and some Dusty in Color Forrest to add some green to the large white flower.

Treasure these Memories - Sketch - Heather McMahon

The Dusty Attic Design Team members have made such amazing layouts using

 the String of Hearts chippie that I thought I’d try something different and

see if it would work with a modern, arty layout. I made the background with

 Dusty in Colour paints and used four different chippies on the page.

Here's Audrey’s take on this month’s sketch

Dusty Attic products used - Heart Arrows #2 DA1026, Arrows #2 DA0999, Birds on a Branch #3 DA1003, String of Hearts Frame set DA1017, Dusty in Colour - Dusty Pink DA0907 mixed with Navajo White DA0903 to make a even softer Dusty Pink then I mixed in some Bisque DA0921, Navajo White mixed with Vintage Gold DA0926, to make a nice soft white/cream colour, Clear Crackle Varnish DA0900
Other products used - Paper – prima, clock charm – Prima, threads in white and cream, lace, paper doily, Washi tape, Krafty Lady mould, Stamps by – Fiskars and Collections, Texture paste, Stencil by Kaiser.

WOW - January went really quickly !

Here in Australia some kiddies are back at school and some go back next week.

 Good luck to the little ones starting school for the first time, in-betweens starting High School and the cool kids starting Years 11 and 12 !
