Christmas Surprise - Heather McMahon

Hello there! It's Heather McMahon here today with a bit of Dusty Attic Christmas cheer.

Santa came early to my house and delivered a box of Dusty Attic goodies so I just had to use them straight away. I followed the gorgeous December sketch:

Here's what I created:

 

I've used a mix of new and older chippies here. I always love the new releases but still go back to older designs as well.

I love the new word packs. I used a combination of letters, a word from a new word pack and numbers to make my title. I coated the letters and numbers with Dusty in Colour paints and the word with

 Beck BT's Tinby Designs Metallic Melts.

 

 

Isn't the picture my daughter drew for my son amazing?

I layered the chippies up in places. Here I have an Elegant Swirl under a Music stave under a Word Disk. I love that you can see through some of these layers and see the chippies underneath. As before, I have coated them with different Dusty in Colour paints and gold Metallic Melts.

 

I painted all the notes on the music stave and scattered stars across the page.

Once again the Dusty Attic sketch is awesome, its always gives great challenge and I really enjoy playing along, not to mention the great prize pack of Dusty chipboard that you could win yourself :)

I loved the layout of this one and decide to use it the way it was presented instead of up ending it or putting it sideways, I was happy to play along just as it was.

Adore - Vicky Alberto - Sketch inspiration

Hi, Vicky blogging today to share a layout inspired by the November Dusty Attic Sketch Challenge.  I went a little retro this month and used some very old Prima papers and a photo of my daughter on her first birthday. In addition to chipboard, I also used some gorgeous Dusty Attic Celestial White blooms.

Here is the beautiful sketch (I flipped it). Don't forget to enter your interpretation of this sketch for a chance to win some awesome chipboard!  Just link your project on the Dusty Blog (top right side).

Here is a close-up of the scallop Lacing Tash, painted with Dusty Attic Navajo White and Dusty Pink paint.  I also used the same paints on one of the the Fancy Labels and the title from the Mini Words #1 pack. I splattered the paint to leave some bare chipboard exposed.

Next is a close-up of one of the gorgeous Baroque Corners set wit home of the white paint splattered on.

Bliss - Heather - McMahon - Sketch inspiration

Hello again.

It's Heather McMahon here with you today with my layout for the November Dusty Attic sketch.

Isn't that photo stunning? My mum took it on one of my parents' camping trips to South Australia last year. I'll give this layout to them to keep.

The chippie under the photo is a Swirly Vine #4. To colour it I put some Hot Chocolate Dusty In Colour paint in a mini spray bottle, added water and sprayed the paint on. It's much quicker than hand painting it all. I added a few random sections of Gingernut paint on too. I painted the flowers with Sunburnt Orange and Sunshine paints and added Bronze Beck BT's Tinby Designs Metallic Melts to the leaves.

To colour the chippie letters I simply inked them then added Metallic Melts.

 

The background is one I had previously made from stamping the leftovers from stenciling projects onto a piece of cardstock. I love that I can just rummage through my pre-made backgrounds for something to suit a particular photo.

As many of you know I adore nature and my garden

Here I am showcasing a monochromatic LO , featuring GREEN .

I created a mixed media background and 

added some beautiful Dusty Attic Chippies

My process for the chipboard title 
cover with Green Ink ( Versa Color 69 Bamboo )
When dry I stitched to my LO 
next I swiped white gesso across the letters .
Finally I stamped a text stamp with black ink .
all done .. so easy but very effective .
