Hello again! It's Heather McMahon here with you again today to share the layout I made using the stunning new September mood board as my inspiration. I adore these mood boards. Has there been a single one yet that hasn't been an amazing artwork in itself?

Here's what I made this month:

I loved the dark coppery colours and gorgeous teals on the mood board so I used these on my page.

Taking my cue from the bottom right picture, I focused on shimmery, metallic accents, using metallic paints and Tinby Design Metallic Melts. Unfortunately it hasn't photographed well, with the gold and copper elements looking more orange than anything else!

I never throw out chipboard off-cuts. They can be used in so many ways! I used some off-cuts to make the 'film frame'. They were perfect! I also cut up a music notes set to make individual notes that I could scatter around the page.

I used up the last of my mini banners on this. I'll have to re-stock cos I adore them! I've used the heart  button again - I find this so versatile that I seem to use it on almost every page lately!

Little Moments - Lisa Gregory

 Hello Dusty Attic Lovers, Lisa here with  a mixed media piece here for your inspiration. This one is based on the August Mood Board. Green, Blue, Pink, with a touch of gold...OK..LOTS of gold.

For this layout, I white washed a piece of 12x12 patterned paper that I mounted on a piece of 12x12 corrugated cardboard. Then I used a mask and modeling paste in random spots. I coated all of my chipboard with white gesso. I coated the flowers with clear gesso. To frame my photo, I used a resin frame that I found at Hobby Lobby in the bridal section, and I coated it with white gesso as well. I tore and peeled back a piece of the background paper to reveal the corrugated card board underneath. I placed the frame and all of the elements on my paper. I pulled out my colored sprays and this is where the magic began to bring out the beauty in the Dusty Attic chipboard and flowers.

I absolutely love the Pendants chipboard, They are so elegant, This one has sweet little birdies in the framed circle. I cut down some pieces of the chain and used the pieces on either side of the pendant and "hung" some Foliage leaves on them. I placed a few strategically placed Prima Art Pebbles on the hanging Foliage and the pendant. They were brushed with gesso before spraying with color and dry brushing some Art Alchemy paint over them.

I tucked the Foliage chipboard under the Dusty in Bloom flowers . You can see a closeup of the Prima Art Stones. I added globs of Prima 3D Gloos gel where I wanted to adhere the stones. Once they dried, I brushed them with gesso, then used colored sprays over them before dry brushing them with Rose Gold Alchemy paint.

The Little Moments chipboard was sprayed with a darker plum color to match the original color of the flowers. After it dried, I white washed Art Basics Alchemy paint in Rose Gold over the title.

I sprayed the framein blue green and purple to blend into the background paper. Then white washed Art Basics Alchemy paint in Rose Gold to give it a gilded antique look. I left a lot of the blue and green for a Patina look as well. I gave the entire layout a light brushing of Rose Gold Alchemy paint. I guess you can say I gilded the layout.

Hi Everyone!!

Joanne here today sharing my latest creation created for the gorgeous Dusty Attic August Mood Board Challenge. So this is the August Mood Board.

I really loved the weathered feel of this board but my main inspiration come from the main quote and background colour behind it, my eye was also drawn to the clock which is why I chose to go with the circle shapes as a main feature of my page.

And this is my interpretation.

'Big Memories'

My little man makes my world a more beautiful place.

I have added lots of texture to this page topped with layers of Dusty chippy. Totally loving the Dusty Bubbles the solid circle chippy pieces were the push outs from the centre of the bubbles and are perfect for extra layering and background interest.

I love the mini caption titles they are always the perfect size for my pages.

All of my chippy was painted with gesso and then most was given a very light wash of colour.

Valia Katzaki here today to share my interpration of this month's moodboard. 

Some close ups

The flowers were misted with Tattered Angels Iridiscent Gold mist for extra sparkle. The Swirly Vine was painted with Mountain Meadow, Oceania and Faded Denim, and on top of that with a mixture of mica powder, gel medim and glass microspheres for extra texture. 

The swirly vine was misted with Lindy's Stamp Gang mist.

Good Morning AUGUST 2016

 

Lots has been happening at Dusty Attic HQ, a new release of gorgeous designs at the beginning of July and then new Titles and Quotes at the end of the month which we run a competition on face book to win this whole set.... 

I'm pretty sure after reading the comments the favorite was "Dream with your eyes wide open", very closely followed by  "Don't cry because its over, smile because it happened" 

My personal favorite is "If you think my hands are full, you should see my heart"

Corrugated Paper

I did the cobblestone stencil work under the cobblestone chipboard. I applied DA clear crackle varnish on to most of the chipboard, let dry, then blended in color to bring out the cracks....

I dipped the mini blossoms in water, then separated the layers of chipboard, then dabbed on the watered down paints, (Capri & Oceania). Once they had dried I glued them together & glued on beads into the flower centers....

To add another layer to the the arch window &bottle border, I used the old wooden fence small....
