Three very nice parcels recently came to me. Thanks to their content, I am finally fulfilling my goal planned for 2020. Yes, yes ... I was supposed to do it last year, but the situation in the world and in my own home made it difficult for me. Now, however, with increased verve I am starting the implementation! I'm talking about mixed media. I played with them and this time I will tell you about it, and since these are my beginnings, be kind to me. Give your tricks, tips - I will be delighted to learn from your experiences.

The layout was made to order, I was asked to create a male design but with flowers. So.. Easy?! It depends.. it all depends on the creative inspiration.. And this one found me at the desk at that moment, so it was created like this. The maroon and sunny-yellow frame around the design emphasizes the whole beautifully and from the bottom the LO is stiffened with a beermat. I used paper from the Margaret Paper Design collection with a brick, chain and... flowers motif! Hit the bull's eye - exactly what I needed! I torn the edges and emphasized it with a Ranger mist in the Terra Cotta tone. Then I sewed them three times with yellow thread on the machine. I wanted a garden mesh pattern to stick out from under my composition - and this is where the awesome Chicken Wire mask by Dusty Attic came to my mind. To make the pattern, I used a matte texture paste from Ranger. I'm absolutely delighted with it, it's delicate, fluffy and so easily spreads! The mask leaves a mark where it needs to be, nothing spills or drags... Just wonderful!
The background of my project is layered, I put chipboard barbed wires on the already mentioned layers. This is a huge pattern, 12" x 12". I didn't want it to take up the surface of the entire project, so I cut its outer frame and almost half of the shape - I have a spare one for another project in some time. :) Using the black Faber-Castell marker pen, I marked the spikes' outline, coloured the surface with Promarkers: Antique Pink and Dusky Rose. Then I got them rusty with the three colors of Finnabair rust effect pastes. I wrote about them on the occasion of my last project with a vinyl record.
The focal point of the art work are photos from a vacation spent in Scotland with my best friend from elementary school. As frames, I used round chipboard imitating barbed wire and colored them with acrylic paint. The gears are three different sets of chippies, including one designed by a very talented Nuneka from Spain. At the bottom of the article I put you links to the store. First I painted them with white gesso, then I treated them with the two mentioned mists and finished them with three colors of pastes with a rust effect. I'm pleasantly surprised by how great these chipboards behave when in contact with the media. I was afraid that they would delaminated, break or swell .. Meanwhile, they're very resistant and keep their shape beautifully, even the thinnest elements. Bravo Dusty Attic!
I've prepared a mixture: two mists in shades of Butterscotch and Terra Cotta with acrylic paint Art Deco, Antique White. With this mixture, I coloured my garden mesh background, pebbles by Finnabair, gauze and flowers.
Around the photo are placed handmade flowers, which I made myself with a set of cutting dies from Spellbinders. It takes me a long time to make flowers, maybe that's why I don't like making them. I made also leaves for the set. They too have been stained with a rust paste. The beautiful inscription Awesome in a matching shade of Antique White is just next to them.
This is almost the end of the creation process. Just need to mention the inscriptions from the black set. Glued together with the Magik and heavy body gel from Finnabair. Pebbles here and there, some splash and it's ready. I am curious if any part inspired you to creative work ?! Mark me on your social media, I'll be happy to see what I mobilised you for.
