Dreamer - Vicky Alberto

Vicky blogging today to share a layout I created in a bit different from my usual style - less shabby and more chic. I used my leftovers from my September Swirlydoos kit and then added lost of glorious Dusty chipboard - all dripping in gold Silks glaze. I used the beautiful chandelier #2 (DA0747), the gorgeous Wrought Iron Trim (DA0547) and a mini word dreamer (from the mini words pack #2 DA0476).

On the chandelier, I used gesso, gold glaze, brown chalk ink and diamond Stickles.

On the wrought iron trim and the dreamer word, I simply primed and painted with gold Silks glaze.
Note: This layout was inspired by the #98 sketch from Sketchabilities this month.

Thanks for taking the time to view my project today!

Altered Clock - Louise Collins (With Tutorial)

Today I would like to show you an Altered clock I created using Dusty Attic paint and chipboard pieces....

I started by taking the casing of the clock apart, and laying it all out. I used DA paint in Crushed Olive and covered all the metal parts.

Before reconstructing the clock again, I continued to distress the casing some more with a small brickwork stamp and some sandpaper.

For the brickwork base, I drew around the casing onto a sheet of cardstock and cut it. I used DA chipboard bricks to create a wall effect and adhered them with hot glue.

Before gluing the wall effect backing in, I used a range of DA paints and a small stiff brush to stipple colour onto the bricks.

For the chipboard fence and vines, I used DA paints again but this time I used a small sponge to dab colour on and blend it in where needed.

Lastly I simply added some blooms and metal pieces to build up the secret garden look.

Thanks for joining me here today

ATC - Robyn Shakoor

Our theme this month is Shabby Vintage.  I used ATC Frame #1 (DA0673)
to accent my design.  I used various textures to create a chunky vintage ATC.
I used Hot Chocolate (DA0923) and Pesto (DA0918) Dusty in Colour acrylic paints
to create the aged finish on my ATC frame.

I used corrugated cardboard as the base of my ATC.  I brushed Walnut Stain Distress Ink onto the surface to also create an aged appearance to my project.

ATC - Vicky Alberto

This month's theme is a favourite of mine - "Shabby Vintage". I kept my ATC fairly simple because I knew I wanted to use it as part of a card project. I stared with the ATC Frame #8 (DA0876), primed it, glazed it with gold Silks and then splattered it with Navajo White paint (DA0903). The mini wire dress form was primed and simply painted with Dusty Pink paint (DA0907).

Then, I added my ATC to a card, and also added the mini word couture from the mini word pack #3 (DA0477), that I also painted with the Navajo White paint (DA0903) and splattered some gold Silks glaze on it. Oh... and the awesome gold ATC background? It is a casing (the negative/discard piece) from the Corner Flourish #2 (DA0629).

Thanks for stopping by the blog today!

GLOW Canvas - Rachelle Sigurdson

Hello, here is a canvas I made using some of Dusty Attics amazing chipboard pieces...
These are the pieces I used on the canvas....
Flutterbies 3 pack DA0389
Grass Cluster DA0660
Heart Flourish DA0275
Bookman ABC DA0666

I started this canvas by doing some stencil work using molding paste. I used the 12 x 12 Butterfly Meadow & 12 x 12 Confetti Doodling Template from TCW. Once that dried, I tried my best at getting the colors of the background in the photo. I layered & layered so much LuminArt",Tattered Angels or whatever I had that looked like it would be the right color, that I finally had to quit. I don't even remember what I used (LOL). On the Dusty Attic Chipboard, I worked with the colors in Jacobi's dress. On the heart flourish I used Bolivian Blue & Razzleberry LuminArte', I also applied crackle over the Razzleberry. I also used the same on the butterfly & alpha, but on the alpha I used some gold perfect pearls. Here are some closups of detail.....

On the grass cluster I used Olive Vine LuminArt', then rubbed in some Viva Gold Metallic Rub on to the stem & the grass part. On the head of the grass I first applied gold perfect pearls, then once that dried I glued on some gold micro beads.....

Thank you so much for taking the time to look.....Rachelle
