Filou - Kerstin Filou - Mood Board Inspiration

 Hello everyone!

Our monthly Moodboard inspired me to create a mixed media layout with our darling dog Filou, who is now already 16 years old.

I chose the colour scheme based on our mood board  and used only a few chipboards as visual highlights and to set a few special accents.

Love Always -Adri Du Preez - Mood Board Inspiration

 Hello everyone!

Welcome to the blog. Here is my layout inspired by the June mood board which features beautiful Dusty Attic chipboard pieces. How amazing are these colors together?

Here is the mood board.

and here is my layout.

All the chippies were first covered with a layer of white acrylic paint, and then painted with Americana Acrylic paint.

I painted the scalloped circle with Orchid and dry-brushed it with white acrylic paint.

Foliage #18, Foliage #28, and Seedlings #2 were painted in Wild Orchid, Orchid, Light Lime, and Peaches 'n Cream and dry-brushed with white acrylic paint.

Leaves #2 were heat embossed with white embossing powder.

The title was also heat embossed with white embossing powder.

I also added elements from the Wordpl@y #2 set, one of my favorite additions to my layouts.

After everything was glued down, I added splatters with diluted white gesso.

Dusty Attic products used.

I hope you find time to play along with this mood board.  Share your projects on
our Facebook Page here for your chance to win a  $50 (AUD) credit for two lucky winners
to the Dusty Attic online shop so you can choose
your very own chippies you would like to use.

Adore and Cherish - Kerstin Filou

Welcome creative friends!

First snowdrops are blooming in the garden, the best sign that spring will soon be here.
But ice and snow are still drifting across the country in cold showers.  I have used these impressions of nature  in the following mixed media layout.

I worked only with white gesso and added some synthetic snowflakes to the chippies.
I also used die-cuts, which together with the chipboards bring more
vividness and fullness to the layout.

As with my last winter layout, 'Magic frost Flowers',
I dipped all the berries, deer and icicles chipboards  in liquid white acrylic paint
and then sprinkled with artificial snow  to give them a  quick and easy frosty look.

Love and Laughter - Adri Du Preez

 Hello everyone!

Welcome to the blog today. My November design team layout features beautiful Dusty Attic chipboard pieces.  For this layout, I used pattern paper from the ARToptions Alena collection from 49 and Market and Ephemera bits and rub-ons from various other 49 and Market collections. I love the wreath on the Dramatic paper and the colors are vibrant and beautiful.

I love the laughter and happiness in this photo of my daughter, Juan, and Jamesie. This is pure joy and warms my heart.

All the chippies were first covered with a layer of white gesso.

I painted the title and brackets with Americana Acrylic paint in Peaches 'n Cream, Desert Turquoise, and Bahama Blue and dry brushed with white acrylic paint.

The flower cluster is made up of a variety of pretty blooms and die-cut foliage and flowers.
I painted the Foliage #10 in Mint Julep Green and the Botanic Runner in Peaches 'n Cream.

Bahama Blue acrylic paint was used to paint the polaroid frames and white acrylic paint was dry brushed over them.

Peaches 'n Cream and Bahama Blue were painted on the Botanic Buttons, and then dry brushed with white acrylic paint.  White acrylic paint was used on Leaves #2.

To finish off my layout I added art stones and splatters with diluted white gesso.

Dusty Attic products used.
