The Journey awakens the Soul - Karan Gerber

Hello Friends, welcome to my blog today as I share a project that i created for Dusty Attic.

I have an altered mini album cover to share using a black foundation album 2.0 from 49 and market.

I began by using a stencil from Prima and applied texture paste in areas on the cover to add some detail.  If you haven't figured it out yet, I love time pieces, and anything to do with time. So Many of my projects will have clocks on them, and this one falls right in that category.

I didnt want to leave the spine uncovered, so I added the Fancy Trim in the middle of the spine.
I continued to adhere all my chipboard pieces. I added a resin handle that I had made along with metal heart and small heart with wings.

Then I gessoed everything with black gesso.

I went over with metallique paint, Light Patina which when dry, turned this blueish color. And resembles denim.  I detailed some of he shadows with Burnt Sienna Fluid Acrylic. and then lightly went over with gold wax using my fingers.

I added an old metal trinket i had in my metal box, "The Journey Awakens the Soul" Which i felt was fitting for this project.

There is the album full view, I hope you have enjoyed my project share for you today.

Here are the chipboard pieces I used.

Treasure the little moments - Karan Gerber - Mood Board inspiration

Hello friends and welcome back to my blog today sharing a project for Dusty Attic. My project today is based on this months Moodboard

Starting with a photo of our grand daughter from last summer, I wanted to capture both the some of the blues from the mood board along with the colours in the water, on the shores of Lake Huron where this photo was taken

I first gessoed the title, the compass, along with part of the clock and gear negative.

I then coloured them with fluid acrylic paint to coordinate with the colours I was using on this project.
