Gorjuss Card Set - Ankarika Craft

Hi there!

Time to present you with the last project for this year 2023, which is two twin cards made on request. One, of course, went straight to its new home and the other one is for sale and you can find it in my shop on Etsy - here.

The background is paper from the 'Breeze of Dreams' collection from Margaret Paper Design. The edges, of course, are sewn on the machine. The main attraction is the girl under the umbrella. it is rare for me to stamp and then colour the stamps. I always have the feeling that I'm not very good at it and somehow I avoid it. But it's also good to expand one's boundaries from time to time, right? So the Pro markers went into action and the girl's stamp is of course Gorjuss.

The composition is fantastically enriched by the wonderful cardboard doily, which I cut in half and each half ended up on one card. It is painted with white acrylic paint, and I also added some Firebird wax and 3D dots from Novo in silver.

The umbrella is a triple-cut scrapbook from the Tonic Studios die-cutting machine, and the baptism lettering is from the Craftelier shop. Next to the girl hangs decorative beaded tinsel, which I also decorated with silver dots. Finally, I added butterflies for the umbrella and that's it!

Wedding Card Set - Ankarika Craft

I greet you today with two cards made for a wedding occasion. This was quite a work-intensive project, it took me three days to finish them. This is because I was struggling to arrange the space...

But let's start from the beginning. My customer's expectations were quite clear: A maroon colour mixed with gold, with a reference to an Indian vibe, as the bride and groom have just such roots. I hadn't yet done an assignment with such a style, so it took me a while to go through my supplies in the workshop in search of matching elements.

The paper is by Craft Sensations, embossed with a 3D embossing folder from Sizzix and then I highlighted the design very lightly with gold wax. The edges are sewn on the machine with my favourite stitch. The cards have hangers at the top with a delicate white ribbon.

The main feature is, of course, the couples in love cut from the 'Romantic Moments' collection extras from Margaret Mycraftime. I've placed them on beautifully decorated balconies: Juliette #4 and Juliette #3 and these are of course from Dusty Attic. They are absolutely fantastic and the size fits perfectly on a DL card. As well as the two designs seen in my artwork there are others in the shop.

There's no point in waiting - pop into the shop and pick your favourites! The range is expanding all the time and I'm thinking it's probably impossible to have just one piece of every shape available in the shop! There are so many shapes and for every occasion!!! And while I'm on the subject, just for the record: Yes, this is an advertising partnership - but one that is backed up by the full acceptance and even love of the product being advertised! I love The Dusty Attic cardboards with all my heart and can therefore recommend them with peace of mind. :)

I protected all the chipboards with white gesso and then treated the balcony and the bricks around the balcony with Finnabair's cream texture paste, which created an interesting texture reminiscent of a wall. I then coloured the bricks with burgundy wax around the edges, and all the other cardboards with gold wax to accentuate any unevenness, giving the whole card an original style. You can watch the process of preparing the balcony at my IG on a reel entitled: "Let's make a romantic balcony".

A romantic curtain with a butterfly pin blows from the balcony. It's a trimmed white gauze. From between the folds protrude gold pendants that are styled in an Indian theme, at least that's how I see it. And there are tiny white flowers growing on the balcony.

At the top I arranged a rather large flower composition. There's a large foamiran flower, accompanied by several smaller ones, white paper leaves from a die-cutting machine, and the whole thing is completed with lovely cardboard swirls designed by Nuneka. The stylish inscriptions 'to the moon and back', 'Together forever', 'Congratulations' and 'Just for you' culminate this romantic scene.

Soul Happy - Kim Arnold

Hi everyone! I love the foliage available from Dusty Attic and the best part is you can customise it to any colour combination you want.

I have made this layout of an older photo of my husband and I wanted it to include floral elements, but not be too girly so I used a beautiful Dusty Attic chipboard title, the mystic frame, holiday spray foliage clusters and butterflies. I will take you through what I have used and what techniques I applied.

For this layout, I decided that I wanted to make some of this foliage look like it included some golden wattle as that would work well with the colours I had chosen. So, I painted the berries up yellow and I think it shows that you can make foliage whatever you want – even though these foliage items are meant to be Christmas themed! The leaves have been finished with a variety of inks. I have built up the foliage clusters by laying the finished chipboard over laser cut and acetate foliage from 49 and Market.

Holiday Spray

I painted the mystic frame with gold mica ink, and I love how this works with it laid over the foliage so it looks like the swirls and the foliage are integrated together.

For the title, I painted it blue and then touched the edges up lightly with a bronze wax. For the main word I finished it with dimensional magic so that it stood out more. I then layered the title over the “arms” of the mystic frame so it really stands out.

This makes my Soul Happy

I then coloured the butterflies with blue paint (the same as the title) and then sponged white paint over the blue. I then finished the butterflies with some sparkle.

Strike a Pose - Adri Du Preez - Mood Board Inspiration

Hello everyone!

Here is my layout inspired by the beautiful and bright November mood board for Dusty Attic.

For this layout, I used paper and elements from the 49 and Market Spectrum Sherbet collection.

and here is the layout of my sweet granddaughter.

All the chippies were first covered in white gesso and Americana Acrylic paint.

The Squiggly frame, title, and butterflies were painted in Peaches 'n Cream, Pineapple, Bahama Blue, and Boysenberry Pink, and then dry brushed with white acrylic paint.

As you can see from these photos, Mila loves to pose, and this title is perfect for them.

The Foliage #23 and Seedling #2 were painted in Mint Julep Green and Sour Apple and dry brushed with white acrylic paint.

I painted the daisies with white acrylic paint, and dry brushed them with Pineapple Yellow. The center of the daisies was painted with a yellow Posca pen.
