It's almost the end of "love" month and I'm here to share a layout using some gorgeous Meg's Garden papers and lots of BRAND NEW Dusty Attic chipboard.  This layout was inspired by the February DA mood board and... who says you can't use Christmas papers all year long? They are just so pretty!

On all of the chipboard I splattered DA's Navajo White DA0903 paint and topped it with DA Clear Crackle DA0900 Varnish.  This is a really easy way to achieve a nice rustic look. The title is from the DA1170 pack.

A very Elegant Swirl DA1123 complements the papers.

Hey Dusty Attic fans!!! It's Jacqueline here today to quickly share with you my take on this month's moodboard. With February being the so-called 'month of love', I have used the colors and the word passion from the moodboard to create a pretty card.

 

'Passion'

 

I have used lots of gorgeous DA chippies combined with some 13 Arts papers and mediums.

Some details:

I have cut a small banner banner from Banners #1 and covered it with some patterned paper, layering it on my card on top of some triangle paper banners I cut. I have topped it with a bow and some twine.

For my title I have taken the word 'Passionately' from the live beautifully set and cut off the 'ately', leaving me with the word Passion. I have painted it with Gesso, and sprinkled with Chunky Gold Glitter, before layering on top of my flower cluster.

Above my flower cluster I have added a butterfly from the Flutterbies #3..... I really love these butterflies and use them all the time :-) I have painted it with Gesso, and then dabbed a few colors of mist on, very lightly, using my finger.

I have taken the smallest of the frames from the String Frames small set, and painted it with a combination of Gesso and Gold Paint. I have placed it on some calico on my background, and built my composition into it. 

The little scroll on the lower right side of the frame is actually the top of a key from the Vintage Keys set, that my Son decided to pull off another page breaking it off. At first I planned to just throw it out, but it managed to get lost on my desk, and I am glad as it was the perfect finishing touch for my card. It has been painted with Gesso, Gold Glitter Paint, and sprinkled with Chunky Gold Glitter.

Moments - Lisa Gregorgy - Mood Board Inspiration

 Lisa here, sharing with you, the luscious colors of the February Mood Board that were used to create my layout. One of my favorite colors is purple and all the shades in between. So this Mood Board really excited me, because I got to work with my favorite berry shades. 

 I created this layout and used a 12x12 piece of corrugated cardboard as my base. I adhered a 12x12 piece of lavender cardstock to the base using ModPodge, then added a second smaller layer with a piece of brown cardstock . Once it was dry, I wet the edges and peeled back the cardstock taking the top layer of the cardboard with it, exposing the ridged part of the cardboard an wrinkled and tore it up a bit. I used Lindys Stamp Gang Moon Shadow Mist in Mooonlit Mulberry over the cardstock pieces. I sprayed the exposed cardboard edges with Moon Shadow Mist in Phantom Fuchsia.

The Dusty In Color acrylic paints are wonderful! I used the Lavender Blush to paint the Word Pack #4 "Moments" title. The paint is so thick and lush that it only takes 1 coat.

To color the Elegant Swirls #13, I used the smaller swirls from the  pack and used Dusty In Color in Raisin to paint them.

 I painted a piece of Corrugated Card for the photo mat, using Dusty In Color in Raisin. The Sweet PeaFrame Set was painted with Lavender Blush.

I tucked some Dusty In Bloom Flowers in Dusty Rose, into my handmade flowers.

 I created the flower wreath a while back and thought I would incorporate it into this layout. I did recolor a piece of the the Circle Frame set in Dusty In Color in Hot Chocolate that I used for the wreath, then wrapped some twine around it and tied a bow. I topped the bow with another flower in Vintage rose.

Glorious - Heather McMahon - Mood board inspitation

I took my cues from many items on the mood board - the sunrise/sunset photo, the colours and the moody feel.

I used my Dusty Attic chippies in many different ways. I coloured the butterfly, birds, small vine frame and the flourish with Dusty Attic paints as well as inks. I used a large vine frame as a stencil under the butterfly and sprayed it with black mist. I painted the tile alphas and the Hello World circle with white paint then used a black marker to highlight the letters.

Love Completely by Tina Dalton and Dad by Lizzy Hill - Mood Board Inspiration

What a gorgeous pallet combination of colors and words that  make this months mood board challenge at   Dusty Attic

 I just love the warmth that comes from this pallet.

I have been wanting to use the corrugate card so I decided to use it and paint it white, I have seen this card stock used in so many male grungy creations and wanted to use it with the added soft femine touch, I love the result.

Hey there fellow scrappers! Sharing with you my take on our current FEBRUARY CHALLENGE.

It's a CORKER! So's the prize you can win.....YUP! A voucher for $100....pretty good, eh??!!! The mood board:

Now there's a story to  this one [which is why I've got a PILE of journaling on my page]....for more information on THAT bit of it, you can check out my post HERE. Suffice to say my Dad wasn't the easiest man to have around the house when he drank:/

But he was a good Dad in many other ways...enough guff!

This photo is from my 1st marriage waaaaay back in the 80's. Yes, I know, many of you weren't even BORN then. The colours just fitted the challenge to a 'tee'. And we lived on a farm. And it was time I 'faced' how I felt about my Dad. So I went with that:

Some yummy 7 Dots Studio papers. Glimmer Mist. A torn bit of cardboard [already gessoed - must've been for something else in the dim, dim past??!!!]. And lost of journaling. Which I TOYED with making private. But in the end, I decided, for me, scrapping is about the STORY as much as the picture and the creativity. Hence, the words became part of the design:)

Some closies of the YUMMY DA goodies I've used:

Birds on a wire. Lightly coated in DA paint [RAISIN]...the houses I left raw. I could get deep and meaningful & say something like "Doing this page left me a bit emotionally raw...hence, the houses..."

But [puke!]...I won't!!!!

I'm not a great flower user. But I find myself reaching for these VINTAGE ROSES ones all the time. Weird. Still, you can't blame me. Aren't they BEAUTIFUL??? Those buttons in the bg were 'raw' too. But I used stamps to print on the them. And I didn't smudge them. PHEW!!!

 Some of my journaling..... more of the 'Main Street' house set. There are sooo many uses for these chippies!

 In my title I used most of the words from the Word Pack #6:

 The washi behind made it stand out nicely!

And one more shot of that GORGEOUS barbed wire. I added cross stitches in quite coarse twine. I'm sure there's some symbolism in there, too, if you can be bothered thinking about it!!!
