Adorable - Tina Ollett - Mood Board Inspiration

Hello and welcome. I am so happy to see you back here. Thank you for visiting.

I have been very busy in the last few weeks organising my craft room, but alas it just is not coming together easily so I decided to become distracted with this month's Dusty Attic Moodboard. Yet again another stunning board with so very much to offer. The colours are more than stunning and to my suprise, papers of these colours were not among my collection. So I changed it up a little starting with a muted shabby vintage background page .

And here it is....totally fabulous!

And my interpretation

"Adorable"

This is a photo of my beautiful Ashlea back when we lived in a little mining town in regional Queensland. Her favourite pastime was swinging on the swingset. I have so many photos on her on it but this one is by far my favourite. It of course is a little blurry due to my lack of photography skills but she looks so radiantly happy and that smile just melts my heart. So my background page was kept pretty simple with just a little colouring of H2O's. I also added splatterings of Dylusions and also some Liquid Pearl Accents.

I have cut and torn the wood panneling on this patterned paper and layered it using some foam dots.

So okay I opened my gorgeous box from the ever so generous Jennifer Mahoney Hedger last week and out popped these stunnnnnningly beautiful Elegant Swirls. I loooooooove them....a new fave. They were simply dressed with a little liquid pearls. The second of them was cut and layered to the left side of the photo.

My Dusty word "adorable" was also dressed with Liquid Pearls (Onyx Pearl). And because I went with the darkness of the black I framed my page using a little Distress Ink ( Black Soot).

Spread your wings - Amy Voorthuis (Mood board inspiration)

Hi everyone, 

When I got my massive DT box from The Dusty Attic I was so excited that I started right away!

I ordered the gorgeous two new collections at 7 Dots Studio and got that order in too.....

I knew right away that I wanted to enter their challenge using the Dusty Attic mood board at the same time. So for this layout I used two different paper collections and the word stickers and a bunch of chipboard.

 The picture I used is one I recently made of our handsome boy and his new haircut and I am very lucky to be his mother.

For this mood board I went in another direction as I would normally do....normally I would immediately take out my Maja Design papers and go for a white or light background but for this one I went with black/grey

The flowers I used are by Dusty Attic, Prima marketing and Petaloo I have to say those Dusty Attic flowers are so cute I wish I could swim in them hehe. I also used a couple of stencils and some amazing sprays, pastes, inks.

I think you can really combine rustic chipboard pieces with flowers on a masculine layout don't you think so too? I am totally in love with the Nuts & Bolts they give your layout such a nice touch. The text strips are mostly by Tim Holtz with the exception if the "spread you wings" one that one matches my papers I used.

Here are some close ups....

I painted all the chipboard with black gesso, then applied a coat of clear crackle. Once the crackle dried I painted on another coat of black gesso. For the color I painted on LuminArt Black Emerald, let dry, then over top the black emerald I applied a light coat of golden monarch, then iridescent gold....

I painted all of the chipboard with clear gesso, then TH rock candy crackle onto some of the pieces. For the color used on the chipboard I used Nuvo crystal drops,Raspberry Pink, & Neptune. I squeezed it on to the raised areas, & painted it on to the crackle...

 I painted the DA Lacey Nameplate with white gesso, & once the gesso dried I painted it with Shimmerz Inklings Sheer Bliss. I painted the rest of the chipboard with clear gesso, then some of the pieces with clear crackle. I then painted the pieces "brown" Shimmerz Inklings Chocolate & Diamonds, "Teal" LuminArt Silk, teal zircon, (once the teal dried I topped it off with Shimmerz Sheer Bliss to tone it down). I used liquid pearls, robin's egg for the pearls.....

I primed the chipboard with clear gesso. I painted the holly leaves green, then I painted the leaves & wreath with clear crackle varnish... I used white crackle on the leaves of the mini branches. For the brown used on the chipboard, I used Shimmerz Chocolate & diamonds for the brown used on the wreath, Fancy Trim, & Postage Stamps. For the red I used LuminArt Jasper Red Silk. Once the paints had dried I applied 2 coats of clear gesso, so the color does not bleed through the snow texture...
