The doors are so effective on a page... we love the French Style Door offering a view 'beyond' the layout.   They are perfect for a little shabby chic effect, or pristine new white, raw or finished, vintage, masculine or feminine... and even imagine them on an off the page item!!

March 2012 Sketch Challenge & February Winner

Thank you to everyone who entered our February sketch challenge!
We enjoyed seeing each and every one of your inspiring creations.
Keep on inspiring us with your amazing sketch layouts.

Tips for Using Sketches
  • You can turn a sketch around and use it sideways, upside down or even flip it back to front!
  • A line on a sketch can be a Piece of Paper or a row of Brads or Stitching etc etc
  • Flowers on a sketch can be a changed to Star's for a boy’s page etc and vice versa.
  • A photo square etc. is basically for your photo space, for e.g.: 4 small photo squares can be swapped for one large photo and vice versa, or you can use twice as many smaller photos.
  • Or you can even replace a photo square for a piece of paper or journaling etc!
  • Remember you can also enlarge or shrink the sketch design on your page to get a different look
  • The design of the sketch is a starting point to inspire you! Go for it! Remember the sketches are not set in stone, it just your interpretation of them.

Remember to have fun and don't stress,
do it first and foremost for yourself and your enjoyment!!!
To enter the Monthly Sketch Challenge, all you need to do is include some Dusty Attic on your layout and upload it to the Dusty Attic Ning Gallery before Midnight the 31st of March (Australian Time).

Make sure you include March_2012_Sketch, written like this, in the Tags with the underscore between each word or March 2012 Sketch”  in inverted comma’s when you upload to the gallery to be in the running for a Dusty Attic prize pack.

For more information on uploading to the gallery see in the
Forum - Site Navigation & How To for tutorials on uploading etc.

You can see all the entries in the gallery HERE

Now to announce the random winner of our February Sketch Challenge!
Congratulations AnnMarie Lawson!

We look forward to seeing more incredible entries again this month!
Good Luck & Have Fun!

March Guest Designer - Fi Kenward

Please welcome Fi as our Guest Designer for March.

We asked Fi a few little get to know you questions and here's what she said:

Share with us a little about you, how long have you been scrapping, do you have your own dedicated workspace, where are you from? etc:

I have been scrapping since 2002 I attended a Creative Memory's party and although I didn't enjoy that particular style of scrapping I did go out and look for some scrapbooking stores, at that particular stage there was only one in my area.

Scrapping space I definitely have, I took over my husbands garage a few years ago although not air conditioned or heated there really only a couple of months through the year that I have to suffer the aliments.

What are your favourite Dusty Attic pieces?:

Well this is a hard one, I love the bricks and chicken wire and have used them extensively on my pages, the frames are fantastic as well.  They are all my faves and I love that you can cut them up and use the pieces however you want.

What is your favourite technique to use on Dusty Attic Chipboard?:

I went through a stage of inking, then moved onto painting and dressing them up with micro beedz, then to misting.  I love that they are so versatile you can do what ever technique takes your fancy.

And finally, something close to most of the Dusty Team's heart - What's your favourite kind of Chocolate?:

Okay this would have to be the most tricky question of all, favourite chocolate are we talking brand here or just one particular bar???  Would have to say Cadburys whether it be Dark, White or Milk and I especially love those new little packs of mini flakes.  However my old time favourite would have be the Wagon Wheel but I swear they have shrunk.

Thank you Fi for joining us this month!

Fi's work is always striking and we love seeing her gorgeous, unique stylings in our gallery!  You can visit Fi's personal Blog HERE or pop into her Dusty Gallery HERE to see all her beautiful Dusty creations.
