Simply Amazing - Michelle Van Oudtshoorn - Mood Board Inspiration

Hello lovelies

The March moodboard is simply gorgeous - and here is my take on it

These colours are just simply beautiful .. I really loved working with this moodboard. I have used DA2733 - Feathers by Nuneka; DA2859 - Industrial Cogs scaled; DA2868 and DA2869 - Industrial wings scaled to create the elements for my page.

I have only used 3 various shades of paint and have painted the gears and wings in different colours before layering among the fussy cut flowers. 

I have then taken the sentiment from the DA2545 quoted sentiments pack that reads "Paradise has never been about places. It exists in moments and connections". I have dabbed this with a gold wax before adhering to my layout. I have also added some Mini Seagulls DA2686 to the layout - inspired by the moodbaord.

I have finished off adding the title "Simply Amazing" Impact title

Our March moodboard inspired me to make a bright layout about flowers and spring.

The Lady's Boudoir - Pascale B

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on Dusty Attic blog with a new layout. I try to do justice to the beautiful photo of Christina Fisher call The Lady's Boudoir.

I stamped randomly with a text stamp, then I primed the background with clear gesso. I added a design with a floral stencil, Vintage Gold Icing paste, and Clear Crackle paste.

I primed all the chipboard with white gesso and colored them with different inks: the Layered Swirl Frame, the Small Scroll #2, the Clock Face and the Paint Brushes #1 with the Bluebeard Blue Violet, the Succulent #4 with Sea Moss Green, the tip of the brushes with Tea Pot Purple ink.

I waxed the Layered Swirl Frame with Amethyst Magic, Aged Brass, White Gold, the Clock face, and the Old Coins with Aged Brass. I embossed the Small Scroll and the Paint Brushes with UTEE.

I colored a few pebbles with French Lavender paint as well as the Wildflowers #3. 
Before gluing all the elements of my composition, I colored the area around the design with Tea Pot Purple, Pop Rock Purple, and Bluebeard Blue Purple.

I dry brushed the Country Blooms with white gesso to tone down their color. Then I added White Pearl wax to add some shine. 
To finish the layout, I added Prills and glitter.

Now it's my turn to feature a mixed media canvas using the beautiful Dusty Attic Moodboard for March.

Love all the warm colours of a stunning sunset. 

 

 

All the shades of brown and yellow inspired me to create a country life canvas with a lot of structures in rustic style.

I built a small chicken coop and put a roof on it, which was made from some leftover pieces of chipboard

 

 

some birch bark was glued to the roof

 

behind the cock I used the magnificent  Wagon Wheels,  a cog and a feather  they were decorated with some texture paste, black gesso and after drying with silver wax   Feather  was created with white embossing powder

Delightfully Ordinary Moments - Belinda Spencer

 Hello Dusty Attic fans!!

It's Belinda here today to share my latest project featuring awesome Dusty Attic products. This time I have created a fun layout using 49 & Market papers and Dusty Attic chipboard and paint and a photo of little me.

'Delightfully Ordinary Moments'

For this layout I stuck to a colour combo of green, yellow and white. The colours worked with the patterned paper as well as the photo of me.

I started by painting all of the chipboard pieces with heavy white gesso.

I added some stencilling to my background patterned paper using the Lace and Confetti Stencils with Sunshine and Jungle Green Dusty In Colour Paints.

Next I painted all of the leaves and the word 'ordinary' with Jungle Green Dusty In Colour paint.

I painted the flower stamens and the word 'moments' with Sunshine Dusty In Colour Paint.

The rest of the pieces I left painted with just the gesso.

100% BOY - Adri Du Preez

 Hello everyone!

I am sharing my March design team layout with you featuring my grandson James and stunning Dusty Attic chipboard designs.

I am blessed indeed. I have the privilege of looking after this handsome little boy during the day while his mommy is at work and I feel honored that they trust me with their most precious little boy.  It is amazing to see him grow and reaching his milestones, his first smile, first teeth and how he discovered his feet for the first time. Today he started blowing bubbles, so absolutely cute.  Jamesie makes our world more beautiful, and more amazing. This little boy is so loved!

Here is my layout.

All the chippies except for the cogs and gears were first painted with white gesso, then chalk paint and dry brushed with white acrylic paint.  I inked the page pebble with Versa Magic in Aloe Vera.

I randomly covered the cogs and gears with coarse gesso, and when dried I covered all the parts with black gesso. I then dabbed the cogs and gears with a sponge brush and the same colour chalk paint as the rest of the chippies. Then, I dry brushed all the parts with white acrylic paint.

These polaroid frames and Wordpl@y elements are so amazing!

Here you can see how I used the mini tabs.  And yes, this little boy is one of a kind!

After everything was glued down I added splatters with diluted black and white gesso.
