COFFEE - Kerstin Filou - Mood Board Inspiration

Welcome creative friends!

Our monthly Moodboard is an absolutely wonderful inspiration, it goes with all vintage themes, but also with special themes like coffee, chocolate, memories with friends at a cosy coffee break
and much more ....

I'm a big fan of monochrome colour themes,
and decided on the coffee theme,
because a cup of coffee is full of happiness, right ?! 😀

I created a mixed media layout for a canvas
and worked with several papers, stamps, stencil, flowers,  real coffee beans, powder and some suitable chipboards, used also a Mini tea set, omg
but you can also drink coffee from it, promise 😉😀

Chipboards were primed with black gesso and after drying stamped with white stamping ink and a small script motif.

Love the crazy stitching shapes, they give a very special look and you don't need to get out the sewing machine.

Family matters - Patricia Basson

Another Family photo done with Blue Fern Papers from the Deja Vu and Courtship Lane collections for my Dusty Attic Design Team project. Yellow and Purple are not my go-to colours, but I 'rescued' these papers from my de-stashing pile recently.

I used leftover pieces from the Arch Window set on the top and bottom of my layers and the cut apart Decorative Panel on the sides. Both these designs were embossed using Shabby Green Embossing Enamel from Stampendous.
I painted the Iron Accents with Iris Acrylic paint from Cadence.

I painted the Title, Mini Tab and Mini foliage with Leaf Green and Antique White paint from DecoArt. I also embossed with clear embossing powder.
As decoration I used some Prills and Chunky Glitter.

I used the following from the Dusty Attic On-line store...

The ground we walk on,
 the plants and creatures,
the clouds above constantly dissolving into new formations
each gift of nature possessing its own radiant energy,
bound together by cosmic harmony.

Grateful - Lynette Jacobs - Mood Board Inspiration

  Hello Dusty Attic Fans!

Lynette here, welcome to the blog today. I am sharing my take on the August mood board...and it is a stunning one this month.  I decided that I wanted to document a photo taken on Mothers Day this year.

The moodboard:

The gorgeous Pink fresh Studio, Just a Little Lovely patterned paper was just perfect for the background and I added some hand stitching to emphasize the photo.

The Dusty Attic chipboard used for this project:

Foliage #27

Frangipani small

Iron Accent #1

Mini foliage #2

I painted some of the chipboard and heat embossed the others

I attached my background paper to some dark blue cardstock and then added some texture to the background.

I wanted to keep the layers neutral and therefore added some vellum and a white doily behind my photo.  The Iron Accents were heat embossed and used as "photo corners".

There was already enough colour in the photo and on the background paper so I used grey photos and painted the chipboard frangipani flowers a dusky purple.  The leaves were also painted.

I love the impact the iron accents make and layered the heat embossed title over the photo.

I used one of the corners of the stitched design on the background as the place to add my second floral cluster.  I then finished my page by adding some enamel dots to the clusters.

We would love to see your take on our mood board.  Don't forget to share your projects on our Facebook page.

Why not enter the Mood Board challenge yourself? All you need to do is add your take of the challenge into the comments section on the Dusty FANattics Facebook page HERE for your chance to win one of two amazing $50 Credits to choose any. Good Luck and have fun creating.

Until next time.  Happy crafting.

 Welcome creative friends!

Now it's my turn to feature a mixed media canvas using the beautiful Dusty Attic Moodboard for March.

Love all the warm colours of a stunning sunset.

All the shades of brown and yellow inspired me to create a country life canvas with a lot of structures in rustic style.
