Life is Beautiful - Anguree Van Rensburg

Hello everyone

I'm back today sharing this layout I made for our Moodboard Challenge, using an array of beautiful Dusty Attic Chipboard pieces.

I just loved the gorgeous colours of our Moodboard and thought this photo, taken for our wedding anniversary a couple of years ago, will be absolutely perfect, showcasing the purple and pink colours of the sunset.

To mimic the colours in the photo,  I used a combination of two papers from the new Vintage Artistry Coral and Vintage Artistry Sky Collections by 49 And Market. You will note that I chose to ink all my chipboard pieces in White Brilliance Archival Ink.

I embellished the photo on 2 sides using a combination of various flowers. I then added my title to the bottom and sentiment to the top.

Seahorse Jounal Cover - Kerstin Filou - Mixed media project

Welcome creative friends!

I'm totally in love with the latest Soft Mould 'Seaworld' from Stamperia.
The awesome seahorse in steampunk style was perfect for a new Art Journal cover in
mixed media style.

I combined the cast with a

Baroque
Flourish

as the mane for the seahorse.

Tips & Tricks
Today I want to share with you, how you
can create an amazing
 steampunk seahorse as center
piece
for your new project.

1. make a cast with air modeling
clay
(I left out the gear)

2. glue all chipboards
 the background can
additionally
be designed with stencils and modeling
paste

I used a gear from the

Cogs Frame
Set

 and also the
negative

3. glue a bigger

Baroque
Flourish #3

behind the head of the
seahorse

4. now design the background first with
black gesso as primer
and then with the colours of your
choice, I used Spray colours, Rust effect paste
and metallic waxes

5. finally I painted the seahorse with
its beautiful voluptuous mane,
for this I used simple acrylic paint
which was slightly diluted with water

after drying I set some highlights with
metal waxes

 used Dusty Attic

chipboards

Life is Beautiful - Adri Du Preez - Mood Board Inspiration

Hello everyone!

Here is my altered embroidery hoop inspired by the gorgeous March mood board. My project is filled with so many elements, die cuts, flowers and of course stunning Dusty Attic chippies.

Here is the mood board.

Here is my project.

This is how I treated the chippies.

I randomly covered this beautiful floral frame with course gesso and then with white gesso. To colour the frame I used Americana acrylic paint in Antique Rose and Dusty rose and dry brushed with white gesso and Art Alchemy waxes Vintage Silk and Vintage Gold.

The title, leaves #2 and word disk were embossed with white embossing powder.

I inked the bird nests with Brilliance Chocolate and dry brushed with white gesso.

The leafy stem #2 were covered with white gesso and Americana acrylik paint in Antique Rose and Mint Julep Green. On the berries I used Glossy Accents and Distress Stickles dry glitter.

When I coloured the broken bits brick I had some left over white gesso and distress oxides on my craft sheet and dabbed them in it and magic happened.

some close ups.

When everything was glued down I added pearl beads, gold glitter and splatters with diluted white gesso.

These are the Dusty Attic chipboard pieces that I used.

Cherish Always - Michelle Van Oudtshoorn - Mood Board Inspiration

I hope you are all keeping safe and well in these trying times. Today I have created a layout with the March moodboard.

Aren't these colours beautiful? Here is the my take on the challenge with photos of my gorgeous daughter

I love the blue, pink and browns of this moodboard. I have used the Mintay Papers Harmony range for this layout. I have painted all my chipboard, starting with first with the Skeleton clock faces, using the larger clock, and cutting it in half, have painted this in brown and adhered to the top of my page. The leaves are Tropical Foliage no 6 and have been painted with Dusty in Colour Denim paint and arranged under the photos.

I have selected the words "cherish always" from the Mini Words #1 set of titles and painted these in brown.

These are the products I have used:

Tropical Foliage #6
Skeleton Clock Face
Mini Words #1

Take care,
Michelle

Every photo tells a story - Julia Ost - Mood Board Inpiration

Hello dear friends!

This month’s Mood board  from Dusty Attic  is simply amazing! It has all my favorite colors so my new layout is made with love.
It is all about our life memories that we try to keep in our work.

Even though the photo is not mine, it reminds me of different moments that creativity holds. It is so important to keep even a moment of it in our hearts!
For this palette I used different techniques of chipboard coloring which is always interesting. I also picked flowers and other decorations and managed to combine them to create a harmonious layout.

I hope you enjoy my work!

Here I used:
