Shine like the Stars - Karan Gerber

HI friends and welcome back. I have a project share for you today designed for Dusty Attic. Todays project is a mixed media piece on a 6 x8 flat board panel.

The base  of this is a 6x8 flatboard canvas, inspired by moons by Nuneka, I really wanted to set out a starry night. Here in northern Ontario, the skies are filled with bright stars, and the full moon adds much light needed in an area where street lights are non existent

Using gel medium I began adhering all my elements to the panel, setting the large moon off the panel a bit and adding one of the smaller moons to the middle,

I applied white gesso to everything once it was all glued down, when dry, I used  some fluid acrylic from Golden, and my favourite rust paste,
Added in some Vintage Gold Paste and gold prills.

The background in panel really does not do this project justice, it looks like a sheet of metal and I love how this turned out. I hope i have inspired you to try these out.

Thank you for dropping by and I hope you like my project  this month, until next time, Happy Scrapping

Love - Patricia Basson - Mood Board Inspiration

Hello dear Blog Friends...

I think this Family photo fit the Dusty Attic Moodboard just perfectly! I teamed the Dusty Attic Chipboards with papers from the 49 & Market Vintage Artistry Collection as well as Flowers, Washi Tape and Rub-ons.

I used Red Blaze Gilding Flakes from Cosmic Shimmer on the Love Arrows and the Tropical Foliage Leaves. The Lacey Flowers are painted with Crackling Campfire and Speckled Egg Distress Paint and embossed with Speckled Egg Distress Embossing Glaze.

I did some distressing, hand stitching and layering with paper strips on the top and bottom of the layout. I took the Title for the page from this 49 & Market Rub-on sheet.

From the Dusty Attic On-line Shop I used the following Chipboard pieces...

Memories - Michelle Van Oudsthoorn - Mood Board Inspiration

Hello lovelies

As I type my blog, it is a warm day here in Christchurch, New Zealand. We are meant to be heading into winter, but one wouldn't think so with the warm weather.

Today I am on the blog with my moodboard project.

When I see brown tones, I always think masculine, and I am such a sucker for cogs and gears when it comes to masculine pages, so yes that is the route I followed, using a photo of my very gorgeous son:
I have used selected cogs and gears from DA2859 and D2860, nuts and bolts (DA2880) and have used the word memories from the title DA0732, as well as geometrical panel DA1037. These were all painted with black gesso before I started my page.
While these were drying I sanded my photo, and adhered two pieces of paper behind the photo for my matting. Once the chipboard was dry, I added prima waxes on all the chipboard pieces. Mostly in tones of gold, copper and silvery colours.
I first cut down the geometric panel and adhered this to the page before adding my photo.
I added the photo with foam tape to allow me to tuck in the cogs under the photo. I then started layering the cogs, nuts and bolts.
Creating layers with the nuts and bolts also looks like they are part of the industrial look I am trying to create.
I then finished off with the title - the title is packaged as "happy memories" - and I have made use of just the memories part.

I finished off with adding some ink splatters.

These are the products I have used:

You can still take part in the moodboard challenge, by entering your take on the moodboard using Dusty Attic chipboard and submitting your entry to the DustyFANattics facebook page. And you could be one of two lucky winners to win a AUD50 worth of Dusty Attic chippy!

Take care,
Michelle

#Playtime - Belinda Spencer - Mood Board Inspiration

 Hello Dusty Attic Fans!!

It's Belinda here today to share my latest layout for The Dusty Attic inspired by the beautiful April Mood Board.

Here's a peek at the mood board:

'# Playtime'

I started this layout with the Heart Attack Stencil and texture paste on my background patterned paper.

I layered my patterned papers together along with a torn strip of the Corrugated Card.

I painted all of the chipboard pieces with white gesso and then painted the Paw Print with a pink acrylic paint.

Finally I added some messy thread and layered everything on top including the title and photo of my beautiful dog Ziva.

The Dusty Attic products used:

DA0830 Corrugated Card
DA0934 Filmstrip
DA1309 Heart Attack Stencil
DA2415 Paw Prints - Dog
DA2511 Mini Filmstrips
DA2937 Daily #
DA3053 Hearts # 4

Thanks for stopping by the blog today! I hope you find some time to play along with the mood board too this month.
