Grunge Time - Kerstin Filou

Welcome everyone!

I was inspired to create a new canvas in grunge style.

Grunge is actually a style of rock music from the nineties. The motto of the trend "come as you are" shows that everything is allowed as long as it is authentic.
That's exactly what I love about it, it doesn't have to
be perfect, but it has to be real, you tell a story, you think yourself in and choose the right single parts.  Here are many wonderful steampunk and industrial chipboards, which are best suited to create a
mixed media collage to your liking and mood.

 some details

The famous photo motives were on a wallpaper, where I got some leftovers from a friend. I used two of them and framed them with the dusty attic
chipboards.
To make it look old, dirty and rusty, I experimented with some acrylic paints and deco sand.

was only coloured with silber and black acrylic paint,
I also added a round metallic embellishment and
a blue bling sticker with wood in the centre.

with acrylic colours 'Transparent Yellow Iron Oxide', 'Burnt Umber' and 'Carbon Black'
light brown deco sand was sprinkled into the still wet colour

I hope that I was able to
inspire you!
Go to your project with fun and joy and add something unique
that you like and never be afraid to try something new!

Happy crafting!

Mine to Me - Mary Tzalla - VIDEO TUTORIAL

Hello dear friends!
Today, I would like to share a new layout with a video tutorial made for my May inspiration. As always I found my photo on Pinterest and this one inspired me to create a soft romantic page in white and blue tones.
But, before I continue more I want to give all the proper credits to the ''unknown''
photographer.
To create my page I used Maja Design papers from the new gorgeous ''Denim & Girls'' collection along with some gorgeous Dusty Attic chipboards and beautiful 49 and Market flowers.
You can watch all the procedure here…

The paper I used is the ''Tough but sweet'' and made some layers behind my photo with the ''You’re beautiful'' and ''Loose fit'' papers. To start, I applied a coat of clear gesso and then, I
created texture with an icing paste and a stencil. When the paste dried, I randomly stamped and used a Lindy’s Gang spray to add color.

Next I colored the ''Fancy Frame #7'' chipboards with the Finnabair Ice Queen acrylic paint.

The ''ATC Frame #6'' and the title ''You Are Mine...'' were also colored with the Finnabair Silver Spoon paint. I cut out some flourish pieces from the ''Ornate Frame Set'' chipboard
and also colored them with the Finnabair White Pearl paint.

Then, I layered all the gorgeous elements around my photo and added in
some 49 and Market flowers from the ''Blossom Blends, Garden Seeds & Cottage Blooms'' sets.

Picture Perfect - Martina Stoycheva

Hello everyone!
My second project this month is this canvas frame, that I decided to alter.

I used Rust Paste, Graphite Texture Paste, Black Gesso and Waxes.

I can never get enough of the look of chipboard covered with these products.

To higlight I used white gesso.

You're the One - Kristy Abela - Mood Board Inspiration

Hey Attic Dwellers!

I have been busy playing with my Chippies and flourishes and have this gorgeous layout to share with you! I am am bit saddened that the weather has turned. No matter how hot it gets I still prefer it to winter... Brrr!! So check out this inspiration... I'm counting down the days 'til the spring blossoms
are again in bloom.

To start I had a play with my Modelling paste Black! OMG... In LOVE!
Look at the way it perfectly framed all the chipboard in this layout. Here I marked out a boundary for my focal point and repeated the pattern in the stencil to frame the whole image.

I rarely use purple in my layouts and from what I read among other crafters' - you either love it or hate it!
Its my favourite colour so perhaps that's why I am scared of it. The inner voice asking, "Will I do it justice?" You can decide!

I really felt that it needed a pop of colour so I tested it on the area under the focal point and BOOM! Look at that separation of colour!

I used embossing powder to colour my Chipboard, I wanted the glossy look of sunlight reflecting off the flowers. I didn't have any dark flowers or embellishments so I ended up dying my fabric and flowers to match my layout. To give it a touch of femininity without colour i used my Dusty Pearl Flourish Bling... perfect!

Found these awesome paper straws! Check out your local IGA in Sydney or Melbourne... Perfect embellishment - (and a plug for hubby who distributes the product..)

I used some archival quality ink in blue and black to stamp in the background.

I finished it off with a Cuts 2 luv Flair...
I hope you enjoyed my creative processes...
Thanks for looking!!
