Happy Halloween - Jen Burns

Happy Halloween, hope you have a spoooooky day
and get lots of treats with NO horrible
(funny ones are ok!) tricks tonight !

In Australia we don't celebrate Halloween
like the rest of the world - "big and bold"
Some people do it and decorate etc but not a lot.
My Husband is Scottish and has always loved
Halloween, great memories from his childhood
I also love it and am taking my nephew out tonight
He love, love, loves superhero's so will be dressed as
either Batman, Superman or Iron Man
He is yet to decide !

SO I will have some more great photos to Scrapbook !
and Dusty Attic have an amazing range to choose from

This is a layout I did
(photo taken BEFORE my nose job - hehehe)

Gargoyles are a HUGE favourite of mine
and then I have also used the new Page Pebbles and small chain
Mini skeletons, Mini Pumpkins, Tree

Page Pebbles #14    Jack-O-Lanterns  Gargoyles

Bend and shape your chipboard to add dimension.

I love how the tip on the GLOSS is fine enough to add just
a touch to what you want to highlight

Here are a few other items available for Halloween

You can get them straight from the website DUSTY ATTIC

Thanks for joining me today on the blog
Add your link to the sidebar "readers gallery" to show us your

Tomorrow is the beginning of the month
So.... there will be a brand new sketch challenge to enter as well

Beautiful Just the way you are - Tina Dalton

Good morning all, I am so very excited to learn that I get to stay on with Dusty Attic for another Design Team term, not only do I get to continue using the amazing products I also get to share this journey with some amazingly talented and lovely ladies :)

I am in the middle of moving my scrapbook room so my scrapping has been minimal at the moment but I have created a few layouts to share with you all.

I created this layout using the large shutter window, minus the side shutters

.

I just love these shutters and like so many of the Dusty Attic pieces I have used these on more than one occasion.

I have also used the Dusty Attic  products listed

Beautiful ( Just the way you are ) - quote
Leafy Scroll
Large Window with Shutters
Fancy letter box # 2

Cherished - Vicky Alberto

Hi, Vicky blogging today to share a layout I made as a gift for a friend, using a stock photo that can be replaced.  I complemented some beautiful Pion Design papers with three gorgeous pieces of Dusty Attic chipboard.  Lots of heavy distressing on this shabby-chic layout too.

The first piece of chipboard used was a corner flourish # 1. This is such an elegant flourish and you get 2 pieces per pack!  I simply painted it and then used some grey chalk ink on the edges.

The next chipboard piece is a birdcage #5... again you get 2 of these pretty cages per pack.  I used some white crackle paint and then lightly brushed it over with grey chalk ink to highlight the cracks.

Lastly, I used one of the words from the word pack #1. I inked the the title with grey chalk ink and then painted over it with Dusty in Colour Fine Silver paint.  This paint is so lustrous!

Thank for joining me on the blog today!

Discover your talents - Tina Dalton - Sketch inspiration

Hi everyone, Tina with you today on the blog, you still have a few days to enter the sketch challenge, I really like the sketch at Dusty Attic this month, and was keen to create a layout inspired using it.

I decided to use the ATC frames as my centre piece and then create my layout around these, I love how you can add photos or patterned papers, quotes or anything really and the frames always look great, this was also good for me as I didnt really have a set of 3 photos to create with so I was able to create the effect of the sketch without 3 photos.

I really like the simplicity of this sketch, it allows you to create by leaving empty spaces or fill it in a bit depending on your style, I must admit I struggle with blank spaces and generally mange to sneak some kind of embellishment or something into my spaces :)

I hope you are playing along with these sketches, they are always so nice and the prizes are great, just add your link to the sidebar at the top right.

The products I have used are :
Word pack #3
Teeny Tiny ABC set
ATC frame #4
Elegant Swirl #3
Mini Birds #1
These are all available straight from the
DUSTY ATTIC Website

Delight - Vicky Alberto - Sketch challenge inspration

Hi, Vicky blogging today to share my Halloween themed layout for The Dusty Attic October Sketch Challenge.  Here are my 2 boys doing "snow angels" in their candy a few years ago, LOL.  As I was scrapping this picture my daughter begged me to take a picture of her this year doing the same - too cute!

Here is a close-up of the beautiful Large Number Panel (DA1050) and the script title from the Word Pack #4 (DA1077). On both of these pieces I swept some Navajo White Paint (DA0903), leaving some bare chipboard revealed. Next, I went over it all with some Vintage Gold Paint (DA0926), giving the white an antique finish and the bare chipboard some glimmer.

Here is the amazing layout inspiration this month - I just flipped the sketch.

Don't forget to enter your interpretation of the gorgeous layout this month for a chance to win a great chipboard prize package! Link your project to the top right side of the Dusty Attic Blog to enter!

Thanks for joining me on the blog today!

Sweet Kiera - Gabrielle Pollacco

Hi all, Gabrielle here with you today to share my latest layout I made of one of my adorable little great-nieces.  I felt like doing a more feminine shabby-chic style page today so I used some papers from the newest Maja Design collection called 'A Gift For You' mixed in with bits and pieces of some of the other Maja Design collections.  And of course I accented with lots of my favorite Dusty Attic chippies!

One of my favourite scroll/flourish chippies is the Corner Flourish #1, which I used in the corner of the page design.  A way I often like to treat my chipboard pieces is to give it a coat or two of gesso, stamp some random script words on the piece, rub the edges with a bit of brown chalk ink (here I used Ingvild Bolme's 'Branch Bark' ink) and gave the whole thing a coat of crackle varnish.

I made the flowers on this page using a patterned paper in the Maja collection called 'A Gift For You'....I went with the scripty paper called 'Hope to See You Soon', it used both sides of this paper using a EK Success floral punch 'Retro Flower' in 2 medium and large size.  I partially inked the edges of the petals with a pink ink (Colorbox Dusty Rose) leaving some areas natural.  I then gave them all a light spritz of water and wrinkled the petals.  I added some stamen centers to complete the floral design.  As an extra accent around the photo I added one of the Dusty Attic Corset chippies and a piece of the Wrought Iron Fence chippies treated with a 3D bronze paint and a dab of Dusty Attic Oceana paint to give it a tarnished look.  I also added a small accent in the mini Lock & Keys (under the floral cluster).

Another favourite chipboard piece for me is the Zippers set, here I used it on the inside edge of the banner piece that I cut from a piece of  dotted paper from the Maja Design Vintage Spring collection.  I used a title chipboard piece from the Dusty Attic Word Packet #4, giving it a similar treatment that I gave the corner flourish.  The little butterflies were cut from 'Butterflies are Free' from Maja's 'Coffee In the Arbour' collection.
