Such a great day - Anguree Van Rensburg - Mood Board Inspiration

Hello dear Dusty friends

I hope you have all been well. I am back with you today sharing my take on our beautiful Mood board for this month.

I decided to use the maroon and Dusty pink hues for my flowers and the darker blues and greys for the background.

I started by creating a textured background using 13@rts black gesso and embossing powder.

As you can see, I  cut the large chipboard frame into leafy sections, which I arranged around my photo.

I then coloured my Chipboard pieces with a mixture of Distress Oxide inks and 13@rts sprays.

Altered Bottle - Kristy Abela - Mood Board Inspiration

I have wanted to alter a bottle for a while now,  collecting many different shapes and sizes. 

I wanted to use Wings but found it difficult to 

find a bottle to suit... until I met the Fireball! 

Not sure if it was the wings or the Fireball that made me fly (Wink Wink). I thought that the Mood board was soft and delicate and wanted to capture that. After what started out as a very messy process I have success.

I'm back with a new mixed media layout. The photos are a beautiful memory on a very special event on Madeira, an amazing island situated in
the north Atlantic Ocean.

After 10 years we visited again the Flower Festival in spring. There was an enchanting flower parade, where people danced happily

through the streets.  A sea of colours, shapes and scents, simply unforgettably beautiful.

 I chose the paints suitable to our monthly Moodboard.

Hello dear friends!

Today i'm with a new project - Mixed Media ART "Discover"

I am very much inspired by the amazing September Moodboard. I just love the colors of this palette!

 

I made a round panel about inspiration and paints! They give us discoveries and help us tell our stories and tales.  

With the help of the Dusty Attik chipboard and various elements, I create the foundation, I can say the skeleton of my work. And with the help of paints I convey the mood.

The basis of my work was the largest dial of the set  Skeleton Clock Faces

To him I added an amazing set of Designer Mixed Chipboard Ah, just look at this wonderful deer! I'm in love!

In this work, I first covered the entire chipboard with a Finnabair Heavy Gesso Black. Then painted with a dry brush with acrylic paints and tinted with wax.

Happiness - Farrel Tailor - Mood Board Inspiration

Hi there DA Fans, Farrel here today to share my mood board challenge project. I decided to use the blue/grey tones as my inspiration along with the picture of flowers.

I started with covering my whole canvas with white gesso, then mixed Prima Texture Powder with white gesso to create a texture paste. I used the Brick Wall Stencil all around the sides of the reversed canvas. Once the paste was dry I then painted over the top with Paperartsy Fresco Chalk Acrylic Paint in Inky Pool. I then dry brushed Stamperia Home Deco Paint in Warm White over the bricks.

I added another stencil from my stash to the back of the canvas and used the blue texture paste from Prima Old Walls set. For the Ornate Circle Frames Small I painted with white gesso and used White Gold Art Alchemy Wax all over to give an aged effect.

I painted the Mystic Flourish with Stamperia's Home Deco Chalk Paint in Smoke grey and adhered them so they overlapped behind the dragonfly. I added some blue glitter to the back of my art pebbles and then painted the tops with the smoke grey paint.

I used Dusty Attic's Crackle Varnish for on the Industrial Dragonfly and painted it with Paperartsy Fresco Chalk Acrylic Paint in Inky Pool. To finish off the canvas I added some art stones, Sisal and adhered the Happiness from Wordpl@y #2 Black.

Best Day Ever - Nicole Doiron - Mood Board Inspiration

Hello everyone!

Nicole with you today and I am thrilled to share with you this brand new layout inspired by The Dusty Attic September mood board!

 

 

Here is this gorgeous mood board on which I based my layout:

 

 

I added a mixture of stains, sprays and inks to my background paper to try and recreate the beautiful colour combo of the board.

 

I chose Best Day Ever from the Mini Captions #8 as my title  as I found it fit very well my display. I used different colour stains on it.

 

 

 

Below you see some of the Polaroid Frames, each treated with distress stains and splatters of white paint, that I layered on top of each other to create a geometrical pattern diagonally across the page.

 

I even used the negative pieces of that set to create even more layers.

 

 

 You can also see the lovely Corner Flourish #6 that I cut in 2 pieces to tuck from each side of my flower cluster. You will surely agree that it's a stunning piece!

 

 

The Mini Tags, like the one below, are perfect to add some colour and sentiment at the right spot.

 

 

 

 

My flower cluster is composed of a mixture of paper blooms and clear acetate die-cuts. And sneaking from beneath all those flowers are pieces of the Wire Broken Bits #5 which I colored in silver.

 

 

 

These 2 cuties are my friends' daughters, and this grey toned photo seemed perfect for this project.
