GLIMPSE of heaven - Adri Du Preez

 Hello everyone!

Welcome to the blog today. My June design team layout features beautiful Dusty Attic chipboard pieces.

This is a photo of my little grandson Janco and my granddaughter Mila when he was only a few days old. This was love at first sight. They are best friends and love each other dearly.

Here is my layout.

All the chippies were first covered with a layer of white acrylic paint, and then painted with Americana Acrylic paint.

The beautiful and perfect title, Foliage F10, and the Word Disk, Hello World were heat embossed with white embossing powder.

The Foliage #4 Heart Attack Panel was painted in Boysenberry Pink, and Poodleskirt Pink. I snipped it in five pieces and tucked them under the flower clusters.

I inked the bird nests with Chocolate Versa Magic Ink and the edges in Slate Grey. The eggs were painted with white acrylic paint and Slate Grey.

These stunning Wordpl@y elements were dry brushed with white gesso, Boysenberry Pink, and Poodleskirt Pink.

I painted the tap in Grey Storm and Grey Sky and dry brushed them with white acrylic paint.  I popped some of the hearts out of the panel and glued them like water drops dripping from of the tap.

I painted the Cogs in Grey Storm and Grey Sky and dry brushed them with white acrylic paint.

Some close-ups.

The final touches to this layout included, pearl beads, glitter, and splatters with diluted white gesso.

FULL Throttle - Deb Stephens

This masculine inspired layout used lots of fantastic Dusty Attic chipboard to record the memories from our trip away and Father and Son Memories on the quad bikes.

2 Industrial frame squares DA3362 were embossed with a combination of gunmetal embossing powder and Distress Foundry wax to give a contract between shiny and dull.

DA2878 Mini tool Set #3 was painted and clear embossed and then Foundry Wax was applied.

Are they not jut the cutest tools?? (Am I allowed to call manly tools cute?) Anyway.. I also had some DA1194 Tyre Tracks small, so I used some super chunky embossing powder on it.

I also used some DA1933 Gauges and chipboard title Word Pack #38 DA1620 and painted and embossed that.

Finished off with a few Screwheads DA2879.

Hoping to inspire you with this masculine layout. Dusty Attic products used are shown below.

Memories - Michelle Van Oudtshoorn - Mood Board Inspiration

Hello lovelies!

I have my take on the June moodboard up on the blog today

I have drawn inspiration off the colours - particularly the purple tones to create my layout
I have used a collection of papers from Studio 73 to create my layout. All my chipboard has been prepped first using white gesso. When the gesso was dry, I then added colour to the chipboard pieces. I used a variation of colours - I used a sponge, painting on stripes - first a dark purple, then a lilac, then a orangey/red acrylic paint, I repeated this process over the surface of the sponge, and then dabbed this into my chipboard pieces to create an ombre effect.
I added the frame (DA2673 - get frames distressed - rectangle) to the photo and adhered this to the page with foam tape down the centre of the photo, adding tags behind this as a mat. The Botanic Ringlets Frame (DA2919) was cut in half - one half added to the top left corner and the other to the bottom right corner.
From here I began layering my fussy cut elements and the mini foliage (DA3421) around the left side of the photo, around the bottom and towards the right corner. I also created a small cluster to the top right corner of my layout.
Once I had finished the layering of my fussy cut elements and chipboard foliage, I added a part of the title Memories (DA3342) to the layout to finish off.

These are the products I have used:

I hope I have inspired you with the moodboard - why not give the moodboard challenge a try too? Dream Big Canvas - Pascale B Scrap

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on Dusty Attic blog with my second project for this month: a mixed media canvas.

I covered the canvas with paper paste. I didn't bother to have an even layer. When the paste was completely dry, I painted it with liquid acrylic paints that I made run with water. The top was painted with Ink Black. For the bottom part, I used different shades of blue liquid acrylic paints until I obtain the same blue color as the photo. When the paints were still wet, I added White Titanium to add more depth and Prussian Blue.

I primed all the chipboards with black gesso. I covered the Mandala #1 and the Word Disc #1 with Tiger Eyes Jewel paste to remind the color of the hair of the girl. I just added some gold with Vintage Gold wax.

For the Spider Chrysanthemum, I just added Mystic Turquoise wax to add a touch of blue to the upper part of the canvas. I used the Firebird wax for the Fern Fronds.

I painted the Leaves #5 with Unicorn Hair Sparks and rub them with Vintage Gold wax.

I decide to turn the title to black to add more contrast with the Ink Well paint and rubbed it gently with White Gold wax.

To finish the composition, I added some glitter, sequin, and microbeads

Hello Summer - Kerstin Filou - Mood Board Inspiration

 Hello everyone!

Our monthly Moodboard inspired me to create a mixed media layout  suitable to beginning of summer, best time for holidays on the sea.

Beautiful memories of sunsets by the sea, walks on the beach, or playing with the dogs.

Delicate Beauty - Heather Woodall

 Good morning all

I have been working on this altered book for some time now, but decided that it was time to get it finished.

I started with an old book and tore out sections of pages

I then covered pages and the cover (not all the cover, I wanted some of the original book to be seen) with 49 and Market papers from the Irrevocable Beauty range, which I love and have used multiple times.

I then added some photos thanks to google free photo selection.

I then added some fussy cut pieces and pieces from the Laser Cuts pack from the same paper range.

I then chose some chipboard to match. Some I've coloured with coloured pencil to give the layered effect. Other pieces I've just very simply used some good old Crayola textas to colour.

I have left some negative spaces, as I quite like negative space on my work, but it also leaves room if I ever want to come back and add some hand written journalling in the future

I am going to list all the chipboard here in one go to make it easier this time.
