Sugary Sweet - Kerstin Filou

Welcome friends!

I know it's very hot in Australia at the moment,
so a cooling inspiration might be just the thing?!

We have winter time.
Unfortunately, all too often only grey and wet, but when it snows, the landscape is enchanted, a real winter wonderland.

So I decided to create a layout in a wintry magical mood.

some details

I love this black Mini Tabs
because it's always a very good contrast and suits to all styles of
scrap

I love the idea of layered chippies Layered garland , I painted the lower part with a
dark gray and the upper part with a light gray metallic
paint.
I
added also some
Branches  embossed with a brown embossing
powder.

here can you see a Mini lantern
for that I used a very special embossing powder 'Hammered Metal'

I splited the Grass border #1 in several pieces, two of them can
you see on the left side

I covered the chipboard
with two colours (White, Grey) and  used paint daubers to
sponge onto the shape, which gives an interesting mottled
effect.

II - Tina Ollett

Hello and welcome.

Today I am here to share my project "II"

This project was created using papers from the gorgeous Celebration collection in shades of pinks and browns. I wanted to make something very pretty using these cute photos of my youngest and our boy Rafael. They are especially good friends and are often found rolling around out on the grass together in the late afternoons when the sun has gone down. I captured these photos not so long ago and decided to use 3 of them in a series rather than just one photo like I usually do.

I have used pieces Jubilee back and front by tearing sections and layering them top and bottom of the layout over the top of To the party. I kept this layout very clean and have only used medias on the Dusty Attic chipboards .
Below is the Swirly Vine I have used to lay the doily chipboards over. This piece was spritzed with Olive Vine Glimmermist. Once it dried completely I then sponged over a little White Gesso.

  Swirly Vine 5 DA1339

The Window with Shutters (one of my absolute favourite pieces) was dressed similary to the vine but I used a lot more white gesso over the Olive Vine spray. I also used a little Walnut Stain Ink to add a little more darkness to it.

The photos I chose were changed to sepia colours and cut down and laid inside the Doily #1 chipboards to help highlight and frame the photos. It was a bit of a process to get the photos the exact size to fit the smaller doilies but persistance paid off. Each doily was primed with a couple of coats of white gesso and inked with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

                            Doily#1 DA0479

To help embellish my layout I have used some gorgeous coordinating Vintage Shades Botanical Blends in Orchid flowers from 49andMarket.

                        Elegant Pearls DA1336

I popped a little lace in between layers of the papers and also I have used some tea stained muslin to help keep my layout soft and shabby. The Elegant Pearls were dressed in gesso and inked with Walnut Stain too. I popped some pretty pink pearls on the pearl drops.  And lastly I popped the numeral II over the top of the flowers using this as my title for the two of them.

Roman Numerals DA1824

I have also added in some pretty pearls to help compliment my layout.

Welll that is all from me today. I do hope you enjoyed my post today.
Until next time happy scrapping and take care.

Captured - Martina Stoycheva

Hello Dusty Attic followers!!
Today it`s my turn to give you some inspiration.
I created a layout in dark colors, inspired by the photo of Helena Christensen.

This time I tried few different ways to give my chipboards texture.
My sweet blooms were first coated with some Graphite texture paste.
After that a coat of white gesso and then I colored them with Midnight Sky acrylic paint from Finnabair. I did add just a little brush of Old Silver Wax and a touch of white gesso with a sponge on  top.

This beautiful pendant was first embossed with Stampendous Shabby Green Embosssing Enamel. Then I covered it with Brushed Iron Wax.
The final step was to cover my white spots, so I used Midnight Sky again.

I brushed lightly the edges of my title with Old Silver Wax.

My arrows were treated with the Grey color out of Military Set Pastes by Finnabair.
Then some waxes again.

I hope you liked my layout. You can find all Dusty Attic products used bellow.

Hugs Martina!!
