Hello Dusty Attic fans

We are truly into winter in New Zealand and this weekend past, we had torrential rain - a 1 in 100 year event - it's been quite horrific! I did manage to get some scrapbooking in - and created this layout for my June project:

This is one of my favourite photos of my son - who is now 28. I have used this photo a few times, but just love it! I have painted all my chipboard pieces with Prima Alchemy paint and then rubbed on Prima wax to give it different shades.

I used two different sizes of the Techno circles from DA2856 and DA2858, which I attached in from of and behind the photo, before placing these on the two clog clusters. 

I tucked the papers under the cluster clogs before sticking everything down. 

I have used industrial chains DA1938 and some gears by Nuneka DA2734. to make this feature in the corner, and used the chains on the main design.

I added a few other gears to the page.

The title was made up of letters from the alphabet set "fun times" DA2698. The letters were also painted with Prima Alchemy paint and then once dry, sanded on the edges of each letter before adhering these to the page.

My Girl Ziva - Belinda Spencer - Mood Board Inspiration

It's Belinda here today to share my latest layout for The Dusty Attic inspired by the May mood board and featuring lots of fun chipboard pieces and some Dusty In Colour Paint.

Here's a reminder of the gorgeous mood board for this month:

For my layout I began by applying some Mountain Meadow Dusty In Colour paint to my background with a palette knife. I love the messy look a palette knife gives. Once the paint was dry, I used the Distressed Grid stencil with some heavy white gesso to add some interest. I flicked over some more colour using Posca Paint Pens.

Next I painted all of my chipboard pieces with several coats of heavy white gesso letting them dry between coats. Once the gesso was dry, I painted some of the pieces with Dusty In Colour Paints in Oceania and Dusty Pink. Some of the pieces I left white to break up all of the colour on the page and also because I just love the look of crisp white chipboard pieces on my pages.

My favourite thing is layering! Lots of layering!! So my next step was to layer all of my chipboard pieces as well as patterned papers in the mood board colours and my photo. Oh and I used a leftover 'negative' piece from a set of tabs that you can see poking out at the top of my photo/paper stack. I love to find ways to use up my leftover bits of chipboard so nothing goes to waste.

It's Belinda with you today to share my latest layout featuring awesome Dusty Attic chipboard.

Hello Sweetness

For this layout I have used the stunning Bee Arty paper collection 'Forever My Always' designed by the uber talented Fiona Paltridge. I loved the sparkly gold background paper that perfectly matched my darling daughter's hair.

The gold background then inspired me to 'paint' my chipboard pieces gold. When I say paint I mean I used a Pilot Pintor Paint Pen in Gold to basically colour over the chipboard. Why get messy paintbrushes and water jars etc out when you can use a simple pen right?! No cleaning up afterwards!

Oh and how good are those Get Framed Postage Stamp frames?? I LOVE them.

You can have too much gold (said no one EVER!!) so I used my obligatory white Posca Paint Pen to colour the mini tab and the banner and break up all of the in your face colour a bit.

Sketch #43

My take on the sketch, as my photo's are vertical and horizontal differently to the sketch I just changed the pages around. That is the beauty of a sketch, it is a platform to jump start your mojo to flow.

Yanchep Lagoon Breakfast

One of my son's works and lives away in a mining town up north. His 12months away has now turned into 18months away and although I miss him he loves it and is saving money to travel, one day of course when travelling is allowed again. So we took the opportunity while he was down for 10days to head out near our house for breakfast together.

I have used the 49 and Market Vintage Artistry SHORE collection of papers, lasercuts and ephemera stack, plus added pieces from the Underwater Layered embellishment sheet and the gorgeous Stitched Frames and finished off the pages by adding Wishing Bubbles.

Out of all the new Ocean elements I would say the large and the mini Jellyfish would be my favorite.

To colour my alphabets I have used white paint, the ocean elements, jellyfish and octopus are coloured using different paints and inks.
