Amazing- Rikki G - Mood Board Inspiration

Good morning how are you all? I have been working hard on doing a layout a day and I have to say I am so happy, its helped the mojo flow and more importantly it gets memories in albums, I have to say I am not looking forward to organised them in there albums thats going to be a task and a half , but its worth it especially when you flick through the albums.

How goes you creative journey?

Why dont you play along with the new Dusty Attic Moodboard?

Lets face it my go to is white chipboard... I love the fact that with putting all the chipboard white it allows you to stack and layer your chipboard.

It allows the pattern paper to pop and show off the colours and with the chipboard so show there amazing details and shapes.

Another confession, I love sticking rhinestones throughout the layers of chipboard, yes they are all individually glued and yes it takes a lot of time but its a little bit of zen when doing it.

So I hope you find your zen when creating your moodboard entry.

Till next time,
have a creative day.

Just ME - Rikki G - Mood Board Inspiration

Good morning how are you? I am here today to share with you this months NEW Dusty Attic Moodboard challenge.

This one I created with on retreat... remember I had a goal of 10 or more layouts... well I managed 9 layouts, one layout took me 5 hrs to bling so I might have zoned out a little but thats ok, thats the point of retreat, to have fun and just be with amazing like minded people right?

To start this layout I used a cut file as a base and then worked around it with my photos and Dusty Attic Chipboard Elements.

By mounting the cut file on some foam tape you can make your chipboard title float over your fussy cut elements and rhinestones by only gluing small points that touch in the file.

With the Dusty Attic Sun it can be added under the small waves of the cut file.

The Dusty Attic Maiden Hair Fern can be cut into small parts so you can get two pieces, also it adds to the movement off the layout.

You stole my Heart - Rikki G - SKETCH Inspiration

Good morning how are you? I am here today to share with you the first Dusty Attic Sketch challenge !!!! So you now have the opportunity to win with either the Mood board or Sketch so how good is that ?

I am a huge fan of sketches, I love that they give you a starting point for your work to evolve from there.

Do you love sketches?

So without further ado here is the sketch.

So to start off my interpretation of the sketch I started with working the background papers and getting that all squared away with the layers.....

Then I focused on my photos and what series of photos I need to fill out the double layout.

Now you might notice that the instead of the three photos on the left hand side, there are two, I love things to be in odds so rather than 8 photos I wanted 7 ( Plus this works well if you dont quite have enough).

So where the other photo would be I made a tag cluster alternative you could add a journal block.

Next is about adding the embellishment clusters, to start off with to give you a base to work off, add Branch #3 in the middle of the pages and then work on fussy cutting and making height to add the chipboard pieces........

Then ones you have the fussy cutting pieces down, add the maiden fern throughout the embellishment strips.

The aim is to weave the fussy cutting, die cuts and chipboard in and out of each other making it seem like one.....

With the spacing you can afford to add a larger title.

If you dont like your hand writing print it !!!  Add a gap in between each line so you can give yourself plenty of room to cut and stick on your page.

I added rhinestones and clear sequins around the background dont forget to add some trails in between the photos, to tie the two pages together.
