Memories Mixed Media book - Judith Tijsen

 Hello there to you all,

Have you ever experienced that a project sometimes arises automatically. 

I had the idea that this book made itself, it went so easily. 

And I am also very happy with the result.

I hope you like it too.

I used the Ledger stencil for the underground and added some 3d Balls here and there.

Then I painted this layer with black gesso and then with waxes and paints from Finnabair.

The Mystic frame is also painted with acrylic paint from Finnabair.

Timeless Beauty - Judith Tijsen - Mood Board inspiration

Hello to you all,

This month we have another beautiful mood board at Dusty Attic.

It's a colourful collection of blue and purple shades.

This is my layout with which I hope to inspire you again.

Because the decorations are a bit larger than intended, the contours of the beautiful Ledger Stencil can just be seen.

I have not used the beautiful graceful hinges on a book for which they are normally intended. 

But you can also very well use them in this way as decoration.

And how cute are the beautiful flowers called Frangipani #3(DA 2534)?

Steampunk Journal - Anat Weksler

 Hello friends!

It's Anat here with my new project - a Steampunk Journal.

You will probably see me in a row of Steampunk/Industrial projects, I mean more than my usual LOL. That's because I'm thrilled with Dusty Attic's new Industrial release, each chipboard is more beautiful than the other!

So I grabbed many pieces and combined them to alter the Journal cover, of course I first added lots of texture to background, using crackle paste, sprays and waxes. When the cluster was glued and dry I covered with black gesso and Rust Pastes, to color the Mechanical submarine with impasto pain and rust pastes. To finalize I rubbed metalique wax on all elements.

Book Cover - Karan Gerber - Mood Board Inspiration

HI friends and welcome back. I have a project share for you today designed for Dusty Attic. Todays project is based on the mood board for April and I have designed a book cover. 

This project is inspired by Antonis Tzanidakis. I used the  oranges in the mood board and created this. 

The base of my book cover is on one of Tim Holtz Configurations. I began by adding a coat of gesso, heat setting it and then using one of Prima Marketing Stencils, I used some light paste and heat set that to dry. 

I painted over that with a thin layer of rust paste, waited for that to dry and then went over that with a thin layer of crackle paint mixed with turquoise paint, and did a thin layer over parts of the cover, not the entire cover

Using the Skeleton Clock, gears, and the geo panel, which i cut to fit the middle of the clock. I had a few metal pieces I added from my stash, I had that small sea horse left over.  Its a bit small for this project and still love how it turned out. I added glued these all together and added rust paste.
