Escape Outdoors - Rikki G - Mood Board Inspiration

Good morning how are you? I am here to share with you the newest challenge for Dusty Attic Chipboard and I have to say its such a pretty mood board and the possibilities are endless.

Especially when you want to do something that has multiple layers....

When you start a layout like that you really  need a big feature piece of chipboard  like the Botanical Rings #2. I have added some foam mount under this to give me more options when sticking my pattern papers down to the page.

So once I have my pattern paper flowers over the ring, some of those have multiple layers of foam tape others do not I can start adding my other ephemera pieces in a couple of clusters....

Now its about adding my chipboard elements starting off with the Daisies and Lavender sprays , they get positioned between the layers of flowers and ephemera.

Now your smaller chipboards can be added throughout the layout like the passport and compass.

The rainbow adds to the fun and whimsy of the layout and it teams up great with the Great Outdoors chipboard title.

Finish off the layout with paper flowers and even tiny resin ones.

I hope this has inspired you to play with all your chipboard elements....

Laughter makes the world a happier place - Adri Du Preez

Hello everyone!

Welcome to the blog today.  This blog post features my grandson James, as well as beautiful Dusty Attic chipboard designs.  The pattern paper I am using is Simple Vintage Weathered Garden designed by Katie Pertiet for Simple Stories.  This collection is simply stunning.

My first layout for December 2020 was of this little boy's newborn feet.  And here he is, all grown up and super cute.  I love this photo from their family photoshoot.  He looks so happy.  Although I enjoy watching Jamesie grow up, there are moments when I wish the time would slow down a bit, and I'm sure his mommy would agree.

James, your laughter is priceless.  I love the way you laugh.  Your laughter is infectious and pure joy.  It is impossible not to smile when you laugh.  There is a sense of wonder in your laughter.  You should never lose that.  You are such a joyous little boy.  What more could I want out of life than to laugh with you every day.

Here is my layout.

All the chippies were first covered with white gesso, except for the butterflies.  They were colored with Art Alchemy Metallic Wax in Mint Sparkle and Patina Blue.
I dry brushed the beautiful Botanical Ring with Americana acrylic paint in Bahama Blue and Mint Julep Green.

For the Ombre effect on the title, I used Americana acrylic paint in Spa Blue, Bahama Blue, and White.

Foliage F10 was heat embossed with white embossing powder. Foliage F4 was painted with Americana acrylic paint in Bahama Blue and Mint Julep Green and dry brushed with white acrylic paint.
Foliage F24 was painted with Green Mist and dry brushed with white acrylic paint.

I also used my favorite Wordpl@y elements.

These are the Dusty Attic chipboard pieces that I have used.

You and Me - Patricia Basson

Hello dear Blogfriends...
Today I am sharing a page for Dusty Attic using one of the photos taken during the Photoshoot we had as a family a few month ago, this is me and Hubby...
I used paper and cutouts from the Craft O'clock collection, Time of Reflections.

I first gesso'd the Botanical Ring and the Lemon Leaves. The leaves I colored by pressing a Delicata Golden Glitz Inkpad from Tsukineko onto them a few times. It really gave a rich Golden color to them.
I used Art Alchemy waxes, Vintage Silk and Sweet Rose on the Botanical Ring and the Leafy Scroll. Both pieces were cut and placed on either side of my photo.

The Swirly Flourish and Mini Caption I colored by mixing Liquid Metals, Metallic Mandarin from Ken Oliver and Alizarin Crimson Brushos powder with some liquid Gel medium resulting in the beautiful two-toned effect. I thinned the mixture with some water and painted the Brackets and Word Tag with it.

Some flowers, Lace, Skeleton Leaves, Chunky Glitter and Metallic Flakes are added to finish this loving page...

From the Dusty Attic On-line shop I used the following products.

Thank you and Happy Crafting till we meet again....

Happiness cannot be traveled to, owned,  earned,
worn or consumed.
Happiness is the spiritual experience
of living every minute with love,
 grace,
 and gratitude.
