Simply AMAZING - Michelle Van Oudtshoorn

 Hello lovelies,

Gosh can you believe it is December already? This year has sure gone by in a blur! I am back on the blog today with my December project:

The photo is compliments Pixel.com - isn't she a wee cutie? I have used paper and fussy cutting elements from a Uniquely Creative paper range. I painted all the chipboard first. The first step I did was to use the Mystic Frame #2 DA1745. This I cut in half at the circle and split them apart before adhering to the page. I added the photo with scrap pieces of chipboard so that it lay level with the Mystic Frame, and adding a tab from DA1802 "Always & Forever"

I also cut the creative script chipboard DA2201 in half and adhered on either side of the photo 

I then layered my flowers and fussy cut elements, adding in the various mini  foliage DA2786 between these as I added the layers.

Lastly I added the title Simply Amazing DA2747 before adding sequins and pearls.

Love - Michelle Van Oudtshoorn - Mood Board Inspiration

Hello!

What a glorious moodboard Dusty Attic has for us this October month. The colours are just so pinkalicious!

These gorgeous pink shades are just beautiful! Here is my layout created using the moodboard as inspiration.

The 49 and Market blush collection is just perfect for this moodboard. I have torn the pages and adhered. I used the Starry Night Stencil (DA1763) to create some texture in the background before adding paint splatters in dark pink. I mixed a pink and orange paint to provide the colour for the fence (DA2563) adhering this under the photo.

I have then layered flowers, lace and die cuts

The tabs (DA1803) are wonderful to use on projects - with different words to use. I have chosen the tab "darling" for my layout - dabbing paint lightly on the chipboard piece so as not to fill the letters with paint.

The title "love" is painted Dusty in Colour Raisin and adhered on top of the flowers.

Happy Days - Belinda Spencer

 Hello Dusty Attic fans.

It's Belinda here with you today to share my latest layout for The Dusty Attic featuring some of the more newer chipboard pieces.

For this layout, I began by adding some colour ink to my heavy weight smooth white cardstock. I spritzed it with water and then placed some plastic packaging over the top to spread the colour out. I dried the page with a heat gun and then used a stamping with a stencil technique to add the pattern. I spritzed some green Dylusions Spray Ink onto the plastic packaging, swiped my stencil through it and then stamped the stencil onto the layout. I dried the page again and added some stamping using a garden inspired background stamp.

I painted all of my chipboard pieces with heavy white gesso and added the gorgeous Botanical Ringlet to the page.

I coloured the rest of the chipboard pieces using Posca Paint Pens. I love these pens so much for mess free altering of chipboard not to mention for art journalling. Who's got time for cleaning brushes?!! I would rather be making more art than cleaning up!!

Happiness blooms from within - Nicole Doiron

Happy 2019 Dusty FANattics!

It's Nicole and I hope that you have all had marvelous holidays

and that you are ready as I am to get creating this new year with Dusty Attic.

I am so thrilled to still be part of this fabulous team for another year!

For my very first Dusty Attic project of the year, I wanted to create something personal using a photo of mine and an inspiring title to remind me that it all starts from within.

I colored my title with some green shimmery paint which I also dabbed on my background.

Then using the Clockworks stencil with the Dusty in Colour Soot paint, I created some cogs and gears design on my page to match the chipboard used.

One of the focal point is this gorgeous Industrial Dragonfly. I find that it looks very dashing contrasted with the black Cog Border #3 and Script Designer Disc underneath. The Dusty Attic has a variety of these Designer Discs in their store, each one of them as gorgeous as the other.

On the Cog Border #3 as well as the Cogs Designer Discs, after painting them black, I added some embossing powder to give them a metallic look and then dabbed them with green.
