Nod to Wednesday - Deb Stephens

This project was a nod to the Comedy Horror series, Wednesday, that Netflix released in 2022. I didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did and it inspired me to create this piece.

Stencil DA3576 (yet to be released) was used to apply texture to the sides of the canvas.  The bricks are a great sized small brick and the stencil is a welcome addition to my stash.

DA2871 Brick Wall Border was painted and gritty texture added.

DA3561 Alice elements #16 crooked branches,  and DA1344 – Lace Border #3  as the balcony were also painted and waxed.

DA3117 – Zombie hands, DA3093 skull and bats and DA2224 Mini spiders were also painted and attached. The zombie hands set was great to create Thing!

I used DA0861 Alpha Set upper to spell out Nevermore Academy that was painted and glossed and attached around my fake stained glass window.

I hope this project inspires you to create and play.

Mysterious Shadow Box - Kerstin Filou - Halloween special

Welcome creative friends!

Kerstin  here again to inspire you for the new Halloween chippies at Dusty Attic

I was inspired to create a magical shadow frame and  thrilled when I discovered

these amazing gargoyles and bats.

The long shadow box was perfect for me, depth gives the project more life.

Gate was glued on with spacers, creating room for a spooky strange cemetery behind it.

I have only known gargoyles as water spout from old churches such as Notre Dame in Paris.

They are dark creatures that only come to life at night, while they turn to stone and sleep during the day.

So they were perfect for a magical Halloween project, a real inspiration for me!!

In the latest Halloween series by Dusty Attic you can find so many inspiring chippies

HALLOWEEN

 that it's pure magic!!

Hocus Pocus - Belinda Spencer

 Hello Dusty Attic fans!!

It's Belinda here with you today to share a layout I created for The Dusty Attic featuring some of the NEW Halloween inspired chippies.

'Hocus Pocus'

For this layout I started with a Halloween inspired patterned paper as my base. I then spritzed some Dylusions Crushed Grape Ink Spray over the page and let it drip down. Once the layout was totally dry I added some stencilling with the NEW Bats Stencil and black gesso mixed with a little texture paste.

Once the stencilling was dry, I added some stamping using a cool little stamp from Stampotique and Jet Black Ranger Archival Ink.

I layered up some co-ordinating patterned papers and tags and added those to the page. I painted all of the chipboard, except for the Zombie Hands and Mini Stars, with heavy black gesso. I added white detail to the title and the Skulls & Bats chipboard piece using white gesso and a Posca Pen.

The Zombie Hands and Mini Stars were given about three coats of heavy white gesso. Once all of the chipboard was dry, I added it to the page along with the photo and a torn piece of Corrugated Card that I painted with the black gesso.
