Believe - Joanne Simons - Mood Board Inspiration

Well hello there and hello September! 

I love this time of the year.  Just a little bit of warmth in the sun before it really starts to heat up.

Today its my turn to inspire you with the moodboard.

Monochromatic was the first thing that springs to mind with just a tint of green from that grass.  I decided to make a tag.

To start I covered the chipboard tag with some paper and then added some stenciling.  First I used the brickwork stencil with some distress oxide ink.  As the ink stays wet for a little while I was able to add some clear embossing powder to give it a little extra texture.

I then added some more stencil work using the creative script stencil and some white gesso.

Gathering my chipboard - I covered the branch no. 3 in some mixed media embossing powder.  This gives the chippy some extra texture too.

Cover the one of the larger doily from the Doily no. 2 set with some silver embossing powder.  The tribal arrow was covered in silver ink.

 

Very quick, very simple.  I hope I have inspired you to give the moodboard a go this month.  We love to see your take on it.  Give it a go!

Little Angel - Michelle Van Oudtshoorn - Mood Board Inspiration

Hello everyone! 

I am here today with a layout inspired by the September moodboard:

Isn't this just the most magical moodboard - so beautiful, calming and relaxing. Here is my take on it

I loved the softness and gentleness that the moodboard presents and I thought that same gentleness was present in my photo, and have scrapped my page around it.

I first started with painting the fancy trim and adhered them to the page back to back. The brick wall was shaped by cutting it, and then cutting through and placed this on either side of the trim before adding my matted photo on this.

The flower cluster was then added before adding the "Little Angel" title on this. 

I then added the flourishes around the flower cluster

I have then finished adding art stone, paint splatters and some muslin.

Good Morning September 

We hope that the world is starting to settle down gently now and you are all safe and well. 

I was at Dusty HQ yesterday and Oh Mm Gee, you should see the NEW RELEASE COMING SOON. 

With well over 2500 designs already I'm not sure how Jennifer keeps coming up with new amazing pieces for us, but here she is, walkin the walk so to speak, so keep a watch out for that exciting news. 
(PS, I think we may even have a give-a-way)

Hello Dusty Attic Fans, today I would like to share with you a LO I did using Dusty Attic's beautiful, rustic Mood Board for September....

For the Background I ripped the bottom of Vintage Remnants Paper #2 & glued it onto DA Corrugated Card.....I primed the chipboard pieces with clear gesso, then applied a thick coat of clear crackle paint onto the window, bricks & old wooden fence. Once the crackle was completely dry I rubbed in a brown chalk & some of the Old Silver Wax.....

I stained the rest of the chipboard pieces with the walnut stain, then rubbed on some of the wax....& inked the edges...

I glued pieces of the Old Wooden Fence onto the Arch Window & used that to frame the photo....

I glued on some wishing bubbles onto the Foliage #22 ....Here are a few more close ups....
