Wild and Free - Rikki G - Mood Board Inspiration

Good morning how are you? Today I am sharing another layout inspired this months mood board and this time its more literal. With the wild canons and colours.

Starting with a cut file I filled the cactus with green tone papers, but I realised they where a little too bright so I toned them down with white ink first then went over the top of that ink with brown ink.

As you know I love a white chipboard piece as you can see with the Cactus #1 and Cactus #4, it really shows the details.

Layer all your chipboard including your titles.

Love these memories - Lynette Jacob - Mood Board Inspiration

Lynette here, welcome to the blog today. I have the pleasure of sharing some inspiration for April. This magical photo was taken while we were camping this last summer. This story just needed to be told with a large photo.

Some close up details of my process:

I knew I wanted to use a very large photo and ended up printing it at 10,5 inches high and 6,5 inches wide. I heat embossed the Title in gold and the lanterns in white embossing powder.

I painted the tree, the gnomes and the fire with acrylic paint and when it was done I found that it was just too bright. I then watered down white acrylic paint and gave everything a wash. The tree was first added to the page and then the excess was cut off.

We were camping next to the river with large trees and that inspired bringing the tree and the lanterns onto the little scene.

We always have a fire gowing when we camp. The photo is just so magical that I thought the gnomes would be a perfect addition.

I completed the page by adding the Wordpl@y phrases and I heat embossed tiny wood veneer stars with gold embossing powder.

I love it when another memory is documented.

Owl - Pascale B - Mixed Media canvas

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on Dusty Attic blog with a new mixed media canvas.

I covered the canvas with plaster, paper, and white crackle paste. When dry, I painted the background with liquid acrylicpaints.

I covered the Paisley #3 with Blue Opals Jewel paste and Midnight Sky paint. I added the the same combo to the Wildflower #6. I painted the leaves of the latest with Ochre Liquid paint.

I primed the Branch #4 and the Foliage#27 with white gesso before I painted them with Ochre and Ink Black liquid acrylic.

I added some gold and orange accents to the Paisley #3 with waxes, blue accent to the leaves of the Wildflower #6, and gold or orange accents to the other leaves.

I added a few flowers to the composition as well.

To finish, I added some Golden Dragon plaste and glitters.

Country Life - Adri Du Preez - Mood Board Inspiration

Hello everyone!

I hope you all had a blessed Easter.

Here is my layout inspired by the stunning April mood board, and featuring Dusty Attic chipboard pieces.

I took this photo of this beautiful horse and her cute foal a few years ago when we visited the Dunkeld Country and Equestrian Estate in Dullstroom.

This is the mood board.

and here is my layout.

I painted the barb wire frame using a sponge brush and Americana Acrylic paint in Burnt Umber, and Georgia Clay.

The title, paddock fence, pumpkins, and gourds were primed with a thin layer of white

gesso.

I painted the edges of the title and paddock fence Americana Acrylic Paint in Slate Grey

and a brown ink pad.

The pumpkins and gourds were coloured with Versa Magic Chalk Ink in Cloud White, Aloe Vera, and Persimmon.

Next, I covered the grass clusters, branches, hay bales, and gecko with a layer of clear gesso and then Distress Oxide in Black Soot, Walnut Stain, and Iced Spruce and Mowed Lawn. Press the four Distress Oxide Ink pads onto a craft mat and spritz

with water creating small droplets. I started with Iced Spruce for the base color and slid the chippies through the droplets a few times and dry with a heat tool. Repeat with all the colors and dry in between.
