Joy to the World - Pascale B - Mood Board Inspiration

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on Dusty Attic blog with mixed media panel inspired but the joyful November color combo.

Here is the rainbow color combo for November.

I glued a strip of fabric tape on the left side of the panel which I covered with a thin layer of white gesso. Next, I added a design with white crackle paste and the Lace Stencil. When dry, I added a touch of blue color.

I primed all the chipboard with white gesso. I colored the Pine Sprig "2, the Laurel Sprig, and the Foliage #11 with green magical and liquid acrylic.

I colored the Christmas Berries #2 with Starfish Foot Fuchsia. The color was a perfect match with the little girl's coat. For the window, I used orange magical and liquid acrylic paint.

I colored the Snowflakes #1 with yellow magical. Finally, I added waxes to all the chipboards to give them a Christmas feel.

To finish, I added glitter and the title from the Card Sentiments #1 set that I simply covered with waxes.

Heart 2 heart - Rikki G - Mood Board Inspiration

Good morning how are you? Here today with this months amazing Moodboard for Dusty Attic and wow what a stunner it is for sure just in time for the weather to move into spring getting us ready with those summer vibes.

Now where to start, I started with playing with washi tapes for my backgrounds there is no pattern paper in this layout.... so if you have washi tape why dont you play with some and get creating. The next step is adding the butterfly rub ons over the washi tape, I even added some on some clear plastic so I can make them 3d.

Its then time to build up the photo on layers, so you can add a rainbow of flowers, I tried to follow the washi's stripes with the colours of my flowers..... eg red with red, green with green, so on and so forth.

Once your happy with the placement of the Spring Blooms #4 around the photo and inbetween flowers this is the first layer then you start building the second layer the Daisies Small.

Now you add the Laurel Sprigs chipboard to add some flow through the last layers. Add the Mini Cherry Blossoms over the top to finish off the floral layers.

Now we move on to the Ornate Pendants, just focusing on the smaller ones to draw your eye around the layout.

With the Brick Wall Boarder use the center peices and cluster them up near the bottom and top.

Finish off with I mean it feels like a 1000's rhinestones, and yes they are all individually glued on but it is worth it. It can get kinda zen like meditation. This is how you create this layout. I hope this inspires you.

We would love to see your take on our moodboard.  Don’t forget to share your projects on our Facebook page. Why not enter the Mood Board challenge yourself?

All you need to do is add your take of the challenge into the comments section on the Dusty FANattics Facebook page HERE for your chance to win one of two amazing $50 Credits to choose any.

Good Luck and have fun creating.

Close together ... - Adri Du Preez

Hello everyone!

I am sharing my June design team layout with you.  My layout features a selection of beautiful Dusty Attic chipboard pieces.  I used pattern paper from the 49 and Market Naturalist Collection.

These are photos from our family shoot in March. One of the photos shows my daughter and her family facing the hill where her childhood home is.  Many happy memories were
made there.

Here is my layout.

All the chippies were first covered with a layer of white gesso,  except for the little house from the Main Street collections and the mini chicken wire.

I adore this title, and it is perfect for my layout and so very true. The title was dry brushed with Americana Acrylic paint in Peaches 'n Cream, Melon, and
then white acrylic paint.  The cute stemmed hearts were painted with Americana Acrylic
paint in Pineapple.

I dry brushed the house and chicken wire with Americana Acrylic paint in Burnt Umber
and True Ochre.

The grass clusters were coloured with Ranger Distress Oxide in Vintage Photo. Moved
 Lawn and Crushed Olive.

The Foliage #17 was also painted with Americana Acrylic paint in Arbor Green and
dry brushed with white acrylic paint.

The Laurel Sprigs and Branches and Berries were also painted with Americana Acrylic paint in Hauser Light Green, Arbor Green, and Melon and dry brushed with white acrylic paint.

The mini scrolls and Foliage #26 were painted with white acrylic paint.

The final touches to this layout included art stones and splatters with diluted white gesso.

Dusty Attic products used.

Thank you for visiting the blog today.

Happy crafting!

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on Dusty Attic blog with a new mixed media canvas.

Photo by Meg Jerrard on Unsplash

I covered the canvas with plaster, paper, and white crackle paste. When dry, I painted the background with liquid acrylicpaints.

I covered the Paisley #3 with Blue Opals Jewel paste and Midnight Sky paint. I added the the same combo to the Wildflower #6. I painted the leaves of the latest with Ochre Liquid paint.

I primed the Branch #4 and the Foliage#27 with white gesso before I painted them with Ochre and Ink Black liquid acrylic.

I added some gold and orange accents to the Paisley #3 with waxes, blue accent to the leaves of the Wildflower #6, and gold or orange accents to the other leaves.

I added a few flowers to the composition as well.
