Hello and Welcome to March !

A lot happened in February, we had the day of "Love" with Valentines Day, an upgrade on the website and Jen "the Boss" Hedger was on a cruise (The Top End) teaching some fabulous classes to some amazing women! 

She also took LOTS of dazzling photos, here are some to share with us. 

How amazing does that look, Jen also has like 100 food photos as well as more of the ship and sunsets and fun on the day stopovers.

Other Elements used: Clear Gesso, Clear Crackle Paint, Prima Waxs: Old Denim. Vintage Silk & Bronze Age, Sequins, Prills, Micro Beads....Here are a few close ups.....

I primed all of the chipboard pieces with clear gesso, then applied a thick coat of clear crackle onto some of the pieces. Once the crackle had dried I played with the waxes listed above.....Here are a few more close ups....

always take the SCENIC route - Belinda Spencer

Hello Dusty Attic fans!!

Today I am sharing a layout for The Dusty Attic using lots of fabulous Dusty products.

I was inspired by the January challenge at Kraft Plus for this layout so have used a photo of my hubby on his tractor at hay making time and stuck to a simple colour combo of kraft, white, pink and mint.

'Scenic Route'

I started with a wash of lovely mint paint on my background kraft card stock. Once dry I used the Burlap Stencil with some white gesso to add some interest. I also added a little stamping before layering on the patterned papers, photo and embellishments.

I painted all of the chipboard pieces with three coats of white gesso to make it super fresh and crisp. This works really well with the kraft background.

To make the title pop, I used Posca Paint Pens to colour certain words.

 Hello Blogland friends....

For my February Design Team project for The Dusty Attic Blog, I created a canvas again...I really love playing on a canvas with different elements and media, so much FUN learning and experimenting!

I added some texture with White Sand Texture paste. I began by gluing the Scroll on the canvas, gesso'd and painted the background with different Art Alchemy Paints. The Scroll was painted with Opal Magic: Violet-Green. Depending on the angle it will show either the Green or the Violet shade...

The background was painted with the following, Sparks Fairy Wing and Raven Black, Metallique Rustic Brown, Opal Magic Green-Gold.

The Cogs, Industrial Balloon, Globe and Clock were painted with the Fairy Wings Spark. I then used different waxes on the painted chipboard as well as on the raw Mini Pipeworks and Mitform Casting elements...Firebird, Lucky Emerald, Mystic Turquoise, Old Denim and White Gold.

 I find it very rewarding that, with the right treatment of the chipboard, one can hardly tell the difference between chippies and metal elements!
