Altered Clock - Heather Woodall

 Good morning

This time I decided to do something other than a scrapbook page. I've had this clock for a little while so thought it would be a great base for these really beautiful papers and chipboard pieces.

I started by taking the mechanism off the clock

I then chose my base page, and traced around the clock onto it and cut it out

To attach the paper to my page I used Stamperia Mixed Media Glue

Once dry I then gave it a layer Collage Medium to seal it

I then used Dusty Attic Stencil DA1757 Clockworks #2 and some Light and Fluffy texture paste on the background of the clock

I then heat dried the texture paste and gently applied some Prima Wax over the top

I then prepared the chipboard pieces that I needed for this project. From the DA2245 Twisted Iron #2 I just used 4 pieces off it to have as the marking points for 12 o'clock, 3 o'clock, 6 o'clock and 9 o'clock. The pieces were painted using Paperartsy paints and the Twisted Iron pieces also had some wax applied over the top. These pieces were then attached to the clock at 12, 3, 6, and 9 o'clock using clear drying glue

I then fussy cut out the other elements that I wanted to use from the paper pack and attached to the clock using a combination of glue and foam tape, remembering to keep the height below the hands so that they are able to turn.

Once these was done I then attached the Mystic Flourish chipboard pieces to the clock using clear drying glue

All of the chipboard pieces can be purchased at https://dustyattic.com.au/shop/

Thank you for spending time with me again this month.

Romantic Canvas by Anat Weksler

 Hello crafty friends!

It's Anat here with my new project - a romantic Canvas.

I've got this amazing mini Paper Pack - Remnants by 49 and Market, which untill now I didn't dare to use due to my extreme love to it, LOL . I just adore this Collection! The pack comes with  paper elements as well which I used in my canvas along with one of the papers as my background.

First I adhered to canvas one paper, covered with clear gesso and added white crackle paste through the magnificent Lace Stencil.

Occasionally I used less chipboards, compared to what I regulary use. I wanted to achieve  lighter and  less busy composition, very feminine and romantic.

The gorgeous chipboard were colored with several impasto paints, adding embossing powder and rubbing with Aged Brass Metalique Wax and Shabby Pink Matte Wax.

Here they are:

Thanks for stopping by!

Be who you want to be - Kristy Abela - Mood Board Inspiration

Welcome to May... This layout sends a special message to me... I am surrounded by teenagers in my life, this image... Its no-one I know but its a story I am hearing time again.. Our teens have so many choices these days, Who am I? Where do I fit in, Why aren't I like the others... I feel that it was much simpler when we didn't have so many genders and sexualities to choose from. I feel that by somehow their over awareness of the labels attached to what are now social norms make them feel like they have to "identify". Confusing times. So my message is in this layout... By being who you are you will figure out what you are. No rush!

I used two shades of pink to create a fade on the flowers. I love the way that these sets come in odd numbers. its one of the design techniques commonly used to create layouts and Jen has taken all the thinking out of using the chippies for you in these awesome set.

I used the same technique to colour the flourishes.

I used a neutral paint for the Tiara, with a hint of sparkle...
I believe we all have crowns (Wink).
I then went on to use Clear embossing powder to seal in the Lindys. Symbolic again of the shields we use to protect ourselves...

This paper wasn't the first choice... but I dug a little deeper in my stash and found some from the Bee Arty - Spread Your Wings collection from back in my Colour Blast DT days.
It suited my message perfectly.

To brighten up my flowers I added some Envy Colour Paste also from Bee Arty to some glass Cabochons. I just love Coral and Teal..

I found the title to suit but wanted to change it a touch. I love the Alphabet Jumble as it gave me the freedom to alter the title. Sometimes you can have all the best Chippie on hand but it just doesn't quite suit, so we make it fit. This time I made my own! Winning!!

Thanks for looking as always.. and remember to check out whats happening in our Facebook group Dusty FANattics and stay up to date with new inspirations and creations.

Design Canvas - Kerstin Filou - Mood Board Inspiration

Hello creative friends!

Without question a hard time right now, but she has her good sides, too.
You have more time to read books and of course to be creative.

So I was inspired to make a mixed media canvas in vintage, grunge style suitable to the colours of our April Moodboard.
