A Year to Remember - Rosalie Duke-Stanley - Mood Board Inspiration

Beautiful soft tropical colours for this months mood board. 

I thought that it was perfect for some of my photos when I was in Bali in 2016 with a group of scrapbookers on a Bali retreat Scrapbooking trip. And guess who was the guest designer and teacher - yes the wonderful Jen Hedgers from Dusty Attic. 

I prepared the background paper with clear gesso and randomly stencilled the back ground with white modelling paste. Once dry, use a variety of Lindy Stamp Gang Magicals to add colour that represents the colours in the mood board. 

I coloured the chip board with a variety of Tim Holtz Distress Oxides and LSG Magicals. when dry, start layering the pieces starting with the frames. Tip - I used a rular to make sure the frames were straight. 

I fussy cut pieces from the Mintay Paper range - Wanderlust which was the right colour palette for the page and concept - travel. Finish with words that I cut to size.

My first July layout and I had  a chance to use a gorgeous photo of my daughter Alana and use some of the new up and coming chipboard board release. 

I used a gorgeous page for 49 and Market paper range. If you look closely, you will see some of the new exciting Dusty Attic chipboard - coming soon. Beautiful foliage, scrolls and flourishes, doors and accessories and fabulous brickwork segments that are perfect for putting behind your main feature.

I loved the colours and tones of this mood board and thought that it would be perfect create a layout with my grungy style.

I started with a page that reflected the blue grey of the main feature in the mood board and using different Dusty Attic chipboard coloured added colours and textures. I added Lindy Stamp Gang magicals to the page and using modelling paste, stencilled a pattern randomly on the background. 

To start adding embellishments, I used spare patterned paper to make a platform to add the photo. When sticking down the photo mat, add a layer of old chipboard in between the paper so that when you add in the other all of the embellishments, you can build up height.

Once all stuck down, add the word titles so that they are slightly under the square chipboard that I added to create frames under the main feature. I have used Dusty Attic chip board cut from around the main laser cut pieces.
