Woof Woof - Kerstin Filou

Hello everyone!

I was inspired to create a new mixed media layout in weathered wooden sea style.
A paper from 49 and Market was a perfect background, added some leftovers
from structure papers in layering technique and chose some suitable ocean elements
from the rich and beautiful section Beach, Fishing, Nautical

The blue/brown colour scheme is perfect for vintage motifs, our dog has exactly the right coat colour.

I have kept all the chipboard in shades from white to brown. And just played with different textures and gloss effects.
For the lettering I used brown embossing powder which creates a slight shine. The seaweed was only painted with brown acrylic paint and is matt,
other ocean elements were painted with white acrylic paint and micropearls were sprinkled into the still wet paint.

The title, camera, daily #, geo tag and car icon was all heat embossed.

The compass and quoted sentiment were dry brushed with white acrylic paint.

Treasure the little moments - Karan Gerber - Mood Board inspiration

Hello friends and welcome back to my blog today sharing a project for Dusty Attic. My project today is based on this months Moodboard

Starting with a photo of our grand daughter from last summer, I wanted to capture both the some of the blues from the mood board along with the colours in the water, on the shores of Lake Huron where this photo was taken

I first gessoed the title, the compass, along with part of the clock and gear negative.

I then coloured them with fluid acrylic paint to coordinate with the colours I was using on this project.

Great Outdoors - Lynette Jacobs - Mood Board Inspiration

Lynette here, welcome to the blog today. I am sharing my take on the February mood board. I used photos that we took on a hike of Robberg Nature reserve.  It is so beautiful where the ocean meets the mountain.

Some close up images of the page:
I first applied some Antique Linen distress ink through the bubbles stencil to break the white background. The compass was dry brushed with white acrylic paint.

The beaded flourish and words # was heat embossed with white embossing powder. I then applied some Nuvo glitter drops to the beads.

I just love the little life unscripted embellishments and made a little cluster of them in the corner.  They were all painted with acrylic paint.

The Great Outdoors title was heat embossed with a Lindy's embossing powder. We would love to see your take on our moodboard.  Don't forget to share your projects on our Facebook page.

Mischief - Lynette Jacobs - Mood Board Inspiration

Hello Dusty Attic Fans!

Lynette here, welcome to the blog today. I am sharing my take on the January mood board. The mood board just shouts beach and I used a funny photo of my husband and grandson taken on a walking trail at Robberg Nature reserve in Plettenburg Bay.

Here is the mood board:
Chipboard pieces used to complete the page:

Word pack #6

Some close up details:
I used white cardstock and applied some Weathered Wood Distress Ink through a stencil to break the white background.  I then cut apart a sheet of patterned paper with slats and threaded twine through it to create the image of a board walk.  I painted the tropical foliage with a green to match the leaves in the fussy cut images.
I used foam tape and layered the fussy cut images for dimension.

The title was heat embossed with Navy blue embossing powder.

The mini skeleton fish and compass was dry brushed with white acrylic paint.

Here I also used lots of foam dots to create dimension and layered the painted chipboard pieces between the fussy cut pieces.

I brought in more of the dark blue by adding Nuvo Crystal drops to the clusters.

I just love all the dimension...the fussy cutting was so worth the time it took.

We would love to see your take on our moodboard.  Don't forget to share your projects on our Facebook page.
