#Adorable - Cathy Cafun - Mood Board Inspiration

Hi everyone,

Cathy here today sharing my take on this month's beautiful Dusty Attic Mood Board Challenge.  One of the many things I love about chipboard is that it's a fabulous way to create a relatively quick and easy layout.  Most of the creative time spent on this layout was in altering the chipboard pieces, the rest was tearing my papers, layering my elements and finishing off with a touch of glitter glass/microbead mix and a few flowers.

"#Adorable"

I was inspired by the metallic items, scroll accents, lace and colour palette.

To alter my chipboard pieces, I coated them with Little Birdie Tinted Metallic Paints.

The #Sayings word and Love You Arrow chipboard pieces were then sprinkled with Emerald Creek Rocky Road Baked Texture Embossing Powder, heat set, then highlighted with touches of Little Birdie Silver Oak metallic paint

I also used the Emerald Creek Embossing Powder, on the Decorative Scroll #1 under pieces to add a touch of texture.

Perfect Sunset and Captured Moment - Michelle Carrick - TWO Mood Board Inspirations

Good morning Beautiful people,
I’m back this month with two impressions of this month’s mood board.

This is my first one; this is my
daughter and her boyfriend on signal hill, Cape Town.

PERFECT SUNSET

This is simple yet effective mixed media
layout.
I found that with the Dusty chippies, we
get a lot of left over board. So not wanting to waste, I cut the left over
board into pieces and placed on my canvas.

Then covered with tissue paper, using clear gesso and Let dry.
Using Prima art alchemy paints I covered the back ground.

I then stencilled with graphite past and
a Prima
Bloom collection stencil

I then stared putting it all together Using wire netting Flowers Clips and sequins

I found metal frames and flowers to add a bit of sparkle and added my Words@play titles.

My Second impression is ...

CAPTURED MOMENTS

This photo of my Doctor Ruth and her new
husband Peter was so fitting!
This is a mixed media layout, inspired
by Finnabair.

For the back ground I use lace, strips
of canvas and bandage tape, placing sort of in the middle of my canvas using
heavy body gel, dry. I then began to place my flowers; metal embellishments and
straws, once again using heavy body gel. Always placing my photo to check and
see if things are where I want them.

I then stared with Prima Art Alchemy
sparks paint spraying with water to create the desired effect but please
remember to do this, one by one and drying, so the colours don’t run and become
muddy. Touching again with the paint I want to make stand out.

I added bobbins and thread plus thimbles, as well as heart pins.
 I truly enjoyed this layout!!

Memories - Mary Catt - Mood Board Inspiration

Hello Dusty Attic fans!

Mary here with you today and I would like to share my project created for the gorgeous June moodboard.

The elegant vintage feeling of the photos inspired me to create an altered box with lots of chipboards along with some flowers, laces and beautiful femine elements.

And some detailed photos...

To start, I covered the box with white gesso and then I applied some white crackle paste here and there. Also added some white sand paste for more texture.

Continued by coloring with several Lindy's Gang sprays until I got the desired result.

I colored all the chipboards with the ''Rustic Brown'' acrylic paint and I gently rubbed some ''Brushed Iron'' wax on them.

I added some art stones and I finished it off by rabbing some waxes to highlight some spots.

That's all for today my friends!

Hello everyone,

Here is my take on this months oh-so gorgeous moodboard. The beautiful colors, laces and sewing theme really speaks to me,i love working with neutral colors always. So i decided to alter a book in vintage elegance with loads of laces and beautiful dusty attic chippies.I was even planning to add some sewing elements but some how it dint go with the design,i loved the simple yet elegant look  the gorgeous chippies gave ,so i decided to leave as it is.

I created the base of the book with lots of different fabrics and  colored it with sprays(grey, brown and gold). Then i created the layers using lots of laces.

The center design is constructed by layering few ornate design chippies which is treated with metallic paints and metallic embossing powders in shades of brown and gold.
