Explore - Kristy Abela

I love a real meaty page and I have found some amazing paper to compliment our awesome chipboard...
Heres a memory, looks rustic but really, its Questacon.
I got some awesome snaps and lots of fun scrapping them...

Here are close ups of how I textured & coloured the chipboard.
For tips and tricks scroll down.

I wanted to be careful to avoid having too much white trapped under the Crackle so I added some colour underneath with a shimmer spray.

Why does it take so long for things to dry....

So while I was waiting I used Navy blue to neutralise the background.

And added some stamping

I used some metallic wax to create tarnish.

I used the metallics on black gesso chipboard pieces to accent the light & dark layers.

Not too much of a compromise for the scrappers and Mixed Media Junkies...

Thanks For Looking!

Three - Jen Burns

I totally fell in love with the 7 Dots studio papers!
My other Love of corse is Dusty Attic chippy
and KYDEN !! - when did he become Three ?
(although it is only two more months and he will be FOUR)

Some of the things he loves at the moment are
Swimming, Playdates (with his little partner in crime- Cadence!), Pretzels, The Fairy Mines (which is the pine forrest near my house), Moobies ! and of corse he can not get enough of SUPERHERO's !
ALL of them
Superman, Batman, Flash, Hulk, Thor, Iron Man, Wonder Woman, Hawk Girl, Captain America, Wolverine, and the list goes on and on and on

I used different Martha Stewart punches and took bits out of some of the edges then put the green behind to add a bit of colour

I have used a mask and black crackle medium to add some grunge to the background
Then machine stitched around the layout and the photo. The circles are clear pebbles from Prima and I have laid them over some quotes that I love
(He is definatley my "Happy")
I left the Dusty Attic Chipboard raw which is something I rarely do but it really suited the paper and layout. I have used TWO of the new releases as well.
( I can see me using the arrows and diamond ALOT actually )

The other little letters are the mini alphabet stickers from Tim Holtz, add a little bit of washy tape and some little white dots and its finished.
