This is Rajni Chawla from Passionately Curious here, sharing my latest creation using Dusty Attic August Mood Board. From the mood board, I picked the color palette , clock , flowers, brick rusty and aged wall. Off the page, I altered a wooden tissue box. All the Dusty Attic supplies are linked directly to their website for your convenience. Here are few clicks.     The base is all first primed with gesso and then textured using Dusty Attic Texture paste. Look at the gorgeous new Paisley #3 from the new Dusty Attic collection. I have used one piece from the set in the front side of the box and other in the left side. It was fun painting it. Check the next picture for the side view. Love ,love , love the grungy look I was able to create by using Dusty Attic Rusting Powder. Dusty in colors used are Dusty in Colour Gingernut, Dusty in Colour Oceania, Dusty in Colour Sunshine, Dusty in Colour Crushed Olive.   The textures created using Prima art stones is just WOW !! The top panel of the box is created using few more Dusty Attic Chippies. Layered Corners are placed on the top of half oval swirls from Federation Frame set.             That's all from me today!! JOANNE BAIN Just sharing my latest creation created for the July Dusty Attic Mood Board Challenge.   And this is how I interpreted it. This month I decided to do something a little different and I chose to create a canvas. 'Laugh'   I was inspired by the word 'Rustic' and the colours of the old barn. I loved the old weathered and rusted look of it.     I used some chipboard chain and mini fence palings as the base of my creation and worked up from there. I once again wet the chipboard pine sprigs to allow them to be pulled apart for extra dimension.
  I applied texture paste roughly to most pieces of chipboard to give that aged look and feel to the chippy.
  I finished of the canvas with some gorgeous Prima flowers and a super cute photo of my favourite little man. Hi! Today I'm sharing a layout created using the August inspiration board from Dusty Attic. Amazing colors this month!! I love purple, and decided to go with those colors, adding some yellow and black accents. 

The photo is of our little puppy, when she was just a couple of months old. She loved to escape - took every chance :)

The Arch Window (DA0570) I painted with Dusty Attic in colour (soot), misted with gold mist and finished off with Dusty Attic Clear gloss varnish. I cut the windows and opened them, creating a view of our little puppy running in the garden. 

I have used the beautiful Spring Blooms #4 (DA1287). I painted this chippie with Dusty in Color Lavender Blush, Raisin and Hot Chocolate, finished with Clear Gloss Varnish.

Tucked in under the flowers you can spot Foliage #4 (DA1294), painted with Dusty in Colour Cashmere and Clear Gloss Varnish. The title Escape (DA1266) was treated the same way. I love how the yellow pops on the black and purple here!

I have used a couple of Dusty in Blooms too, Evening Blush (DA0808).

For this months Inspiration Board challenge from Dusty Attic, I was inspired by the Yellow and Purple colours...not colours that I usually use, but I felt like making a fun and playful page for once...I was inspired by these photos from Michelle taken at least 7 years ago...my how time flies!!!

It is so easy to take part in our monthly Inspiration Board Challenge. The only "rule" is that you use some Dusty Attic chipboard on your masterpiece. Just add your link, name and country to the side bar on the Dusty Attic website to win a $100 Gift Voucher.

I gesso'd the Elegant Frames and Painted them with Dusty Colour Lavender Blush and Sunshine. To get the shades I was looking for, I mixed a drop of Berries Mixed Media Inx refill into the Lavender Paint and a tiny drop of Mustard Seed Distress Ink refill into the Sunshine Paint. They mix beautifully and thus one can achieve the precise shade you want...

I also stamped on the Yellow for some added interest.

I painted the Snapshot title and xoxoxo with Sunshine Yellow and embossed randomly with Lapis Lazuli Blue Gold Embossing Powder from Lindy's Stampgang.

No flowers on this page except for some fussy cut ones, I did some inking and stencilling on the background.

Laugh - Gabrielle Pollacco - with another TUTORIAL

Hi all! For today's project I thought I'd play a bit with negative space designs.  I so admire people who can do this style of scrapping well! For me it's a bit of a challenge as I have a tendency to fill up my spaces too much.

I began this project by first using the Dusty Attic August Inspiration board as a stimulus for this project.  I chose my colors from it but I think I got a little off track with the blue, I meant to choose a steal/blue/gray ....I thought that the light blue and the grey would mix to the right color, but the light blue ended up dominating my layout.....ah well, I'm still happy with the results even if the colors didn't match the mood board as well as I wanted.....and where is the yellow, you may ask? It's in my nephews, wife's shirt! LOL!

Hope you enjoyed my video tutorial! I have been trying to make use of some of my old stash, so I took these layered stickers I had from an old K and Company collection called Blossomwood and used them as my floral embellishments for the page (makes for a nice flat page design that will fit easily into an album).

I also fussy cut some Pussy-willow branches from a patterned paper in the Blossomwood paper collection, and scattered them around the photo area.  The little Sea Gulls are a nod to one of my friends on my Dusty Attic Design team Joanne Bain, who does clean and simple style to perfection,....she often uses those lil Sea Gulls in her work adding a lovely dramatic effect!

The Dusty Attic Marrakesh Panel (small) is such a fun design element that I think can add lots of texture to a page....here I just added a drop of Perfect Pearls in a lavender color to the joints.  For the pretty Dusty Attic heart lock (Key to my Heart) I painted the base with Shimmerz Grapetastic Dazzlerz and the ornate top piece with Shimmerz Gritty Graphite Texturez.

Recently Dusty Attic put out a whole bunch of AWESOME word packs, I just love these scripty titles....and what a great deal, as you get a number of titles in one pack!

I know it may pain some people to cut up the beautiful Marrakesh Panel, but never throw out the bits and pieces left over.  Even the smallest bitty piece can add a nice accent as shown here where I used a cut off piece for the little corner accent.

Gold - Heather McMahon - August Mood Board Inspiration

Hello!

It's been so cold and wintery here that I'm more than happy to be scrapping a bright, sunny layout. At least I can look at it and pretend it's warm!

My layout today is for the stunning mood board at The Dusty Attic. The mood boards are always sooo beautiful. Here's the board for August:

See what I mean about them being so beautiful? Here's what I made:

I took my inspiration from the yellow grass in the photo and the rural setting. I remembered this photo I took once of a beautiful paddock of canola in full flower. A decade or so ago you would never see canola around my area, but now it's quite common.

Now although I adore purple Jacaranda trees, I am not a fan of scrapping with purple. I wasn't going to use it all but I did manage to sneak a bit onto the background and, I'm pleased to say, the layout was better for it!

I absolutely love the circular frame chipboard and I use it quite a bit. It's called Decorative Frame #1. I coated it, plus two small Polaroid Frames with gesso then topped them with a coat of Silks to give them a limewashed look. I painted up some Tile Alphas and layered them on top to form part of my title.

Can you see the tiny birds on there? They're some of the mini Birds on a Wire. The rest of the piece is on the other side of the layout. I also painted up some Foliage #4 with Sunshine paint and tucked them under the photo.

 I used the Clear Gloss Varnish as an adhesive. It's the best adhesive ever!
